The Heart of the Richmond Night Market returned on Saturday, May 16, 2026, bringing neighbors, families, local businesses, artists, and community organizations together for another unforgettable evening in the Richmond District.

Hosted in the heart of the neighborhood, this family-friendly event featured local food vendors, live performances, small business booths, community partners, and activities for all ages. As the Night Market enters its third year, the event continues to celebrate the culture, diversity, and strong community spirit of the Richmond District.

We are proud to prioritize local small businesses and create opportunities that help bring more visitors and foot traffic to our neighborhood corridors, including Geary Blvd and Clement Street.

Thank you to all merchants, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, performers, schools, faith organizations, and community partners who helped make this event possible.

LMU Professor Mitch Hamilton and USF Professor Monika Hudson, along with six marketing students, joined us this week for a merchants walk along Geary Blvd and Clement St as part of a collaborative effort to support Central Richmond.

This visit marks the beginning of a comprehensive marketing assessment and strategy project focused on strengthening our local business corridors.

During the merchants walk, GBMA shared the current realities facing our community, including the ongoing hardships caused by consecutive city construction, business disruption, and the challenges small businesses continue to navigate along Geary Blvd and Clement St.

We are hopeful that strong partnerships between local businesses and universities can bring fresh ideas, practical strategies, and meaningful long term support for our neighborhood merchants.

Thank you to LMU Professor Mitch Hamilton, USF Professor Monika Hudson, and the students for investing your time, expertise, and energy into our community.

Stronger business and school partnerships can help build a stronger Central Richmond.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating the Decorative Tree and Window Lighting Project along Geary Blvd.

This project is more than lighting. It is about supporting small businesses, improving safety, and bringing new energy to our corridor during a difficult time.

We are grateful to our sponsors, SFMTA Geary Improvement Project Team and the Civic Joy Fund, for making this possible.

Thank you to EasyLights for the beautiful installations, and to our USF interns Destiny Black and Enoch Liu for their hard work and support.

We are honored by the attendance of Mayor Daniel Lurie, Supervisor Connie Chan, Board President Rafael Mandelman, along with city leaders and community partners.
