Happy 89th Birthday, Golden Gate Bridge 🌁🎂🌉! Since it opened in 1937, this 1.7-mile suspension span between San Francisco and Marin counties has become one of the most beloved bridges in the world. Young people are the future of our parks 👏 The Parks Conservancy connects people to nearby parks, builds climate resilience learning, and brings those lessons back to local communities. This year, youth stepped into the work in more visible and powerful ways.

LINC (Linking Individuals to their Natural Communities) youth leaders restored habitat and visited climate-impacted park sites in the GGNRA like Bothin Marsh. They researched environmental justice topics, built presentations, and engaged with the public at the Heart of the City Farmer's Market.

This summer, the youth in one cohort will work alongside park scientists to gather real data and contribute to projects with meaningful scientific outcomes.

With your support, young people are deepening their connection to the outdoors, and shaping their own paths toward a climate‑resilient future.

🚨🐺🌊 UPDATE on the Alcatraz coyote (aka Floyd, NOT pictured here): Though Floyd's whereabouts are currently unknown, new DNA evidence collected by revealed that he originated not from San Francisco mainland, but Angel Island State Park. He's quite the swimmer! Wherever Floyd is, he made park history as the first coyote ever observed on Alcatraz Island.

Remember: If you run into wildlife at any of the parks in the GGNRA, please keep a safe, respectful distance. Read more wildlife encounter tips at the link: https://www.parksconservancy.org/conservation/wildlife-encounter-tips
