Our 22nd annual Film Festival is officially underway. Last night we opened with films that expressed Q***R BLACK JOY LIKE FIRE,
and a joyful, inspiring time was had! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Opening Night. 🎉

And we're just getting started. Day 2 is TODAY!

FREE, open to public, and you can roll up and register on site. Just show up at Presidio Theatre, 99 Moraga Avenue, San Francisco.

Tonight's the night!

Join us for Opening Night: Q***R BLACK JOY LIKE FIRE, QWOCMAP's annual screening in celebration of Pride & Juneteenth. As always, we are opening the festival weekend with joy and liberation!

After the screenings, join us at 10pm! We're rolling next door to Presidio Bowl for the Opening Night Party Bowl, co-hosted with Cinemama. Glow-in-the-dark bowling, four reserved lanes, a heated patio, and drinks and snacks at the grill and bar. Celebration is part of the resistance!

Pride was a riot. QWOCFF exists in that tradition, and this year that feels more necessary than ever.

50 films by q***r women, nonbinary, and trans filmmakers of color. In a moment when our communities are under direct attack, these are the stories that remind us who we are and what we are fighting for.

Join us in person at Presidio Theatre (99 Moraga Ave, SF) in San Francisco, June 12, 13, and 14. Satellite screenings are running in cities across the country through October. In September, the free Encore Screening streams online from anywhere in the world.

Our stories belong to all of us. That includes our Blind and Low Vision community members, and it shows up in every decision we make about this festival. Every film at QWOCFF is audio described for Blind and Low Vision audiences. Headphones are available at the Front Desk at the start of each screening. Tactile maps are available at the Front Desk or can be mailed to your home in advance. Guide dog seating is available, and the festival program is screen-reader friendly.

We share in the effort to end audism and the social isolation of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community. Film is for everyone, and our Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community members are central to how we build this festival. Open captions run at every screening, on screen for all audiences, no device or request needed. ASL interpreters are on site for all opening remarks and filmmaker Q&As, with dedicated seating near the stage for ASL visibility. We prioritize hiring ASL interpreters who are LBTQIA+ people of color access workers with specialization in vocabulary for people of color, q***r and trans culture, and social justice. Assistive listening devices are available at the Front Desk. Emergency lights flash without sound, and ushers are briefed on emergency procedures.
