It starts with a job.

Juma Ventures has received a $25,000 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation to support YouthConnect in Seattle. The funding helps young people ages 16–24 earn a paycheck through paid work at Lumen Field, T‑Mobile Park and Husky Stadium, build financial capability, and work with a career coach on the next job or education step. Additionally, U.S. Bank employees volunteer alongside Juma participants, offering their insights and experience.

Employment is more than a paycheck. A first job is where a professional network, a savings habit and a work history begin.

A huge shoutout and thank you to Hamilton Lane for joining us at Oracle Park for a JumaDay earlier this month! While it was a slower game day pace, the Hamilton Lane team brought incredible energy, using the extra downtime to connect with our young people. Best of all, together our young people earned $2,500 in wages for the day. Thank you, Hamilton Lane, for investing in our young people and helping them score big on and off the field 🌟

900+ business leaders and community members came together at History Park San Jose – and yes, our corn hole booth was THE place to be.

Thank you to our San Jose Board Chair Andrea Coen and our amazing team for repping Juma all day.

Huge shoutout to the San Jose Sharks for the autographed Alexander Wennberg jersey we raffled off during Juma Bingo. Our winners were THRILLED (and walked away with some Juma swag too).

And thanks to KCBS Radio for having our Chief Development Officer on air to share what we’re all about.

Our whole Juma team came together in San Francisco this week! 🎉

We took a deep dive into the changing entry-level labor market and what it means for our young people. We also shared tactics we're piloting to respond, including integrating AI literacy into our curriculum. We also made time to connect, laugh, and do a little team building along the way.

We're already looking ahead to the rest of the year and into 2027, and we couldn't be more excited about the work ahead to help prepare our young people for what's next. More to come soon!
