Established in 1999 by Micaya, The San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest has earned an international reputation as one of the most prestigious presenters of hip-hop dance. The SFIHHDF is the first ever festival dedicated to honoring the artistry and diversity of hip-hop dance forms in a professionally curated, non-competitive environment. The SFIHHDF creates a convergence of global phenomena by presenting groundbreaking performances from professional dance companies from all over the globe. The DanceFest has hosted thousands of dance professionals from all over the world. Algin is a multidisciplinary artist weaving the mediums of dance, music and film using choreography, sound design and drone imagery capturing stories of healing, legacy and transformation. An SF, Fillmore native with 15+ years rooted in Afro Diasporic and Street Styles fused with Modern and Contemporary.
They were the musical director and dancer with the company Les Ballet Afrik in New York for over half a decade and co-founder of UFO Movement, their previous groundbreaking dance company between San Francisco & Brooklyn. Currently the co-founder of SEEN Collective creating safe spaces for QTBIPOC celebrations and now founder of their own solo project Aalign Movement .

This Tokyo-based company fuses storytelling, theatrical expression, and authentic hip hop culture into performances that pull you in. With a powerhouse ensemble of about 15 dancers, they have earned recognition and awards at dance competitions in Japan and around the world. Rooted deeply in hip hop and open to cinematic, experimental touches, their work speaks beyond language and culture: raw emotion, explosive choreography, and heart. At SFIHHDF28 they perform โ€œKing of HipHop.โ€
