Clean water gives coral reefs the breathing room they desperately need to thrive, and Belize just took a massive step toward securing it 🏝️

A $10.5 million investment was officially approved for wastewater infrastructure in Caye Caulker! If you know the Belize Barrier Reef, you know just how huge a win this is for local communities and world-class biodiversity 🪸

Happy ! Mangroves are amazing 😍 Not only do they stabilize shorelines and sequester carbon, but they are also critical to coral reef health. These forests provide nursery habitats for juvenile fish and improve water quality by trapping sediment and other pollutants.

Spoiler Alert: You can’t draw a line on a map to keep out raw sewage 💩🗺️

For decades, the ocean conservation playbook has been simple: draw a line on a map, declare a Marine Protected Area (MPA), and restrict fishing.

Sounds great, right?

Here’s the dirty truth: we can rope off as much blue ocean as we want, but if we’re dropping raw sewage directly into it, those "protected areas" are suffering under the surface 🐠

Our latest article breaks down why clean water is the ultimate missing link in ocean conservation and how we’re fixing it at the source:

Sharks need coral reefs. Coral reefs need sharks 🪸

This , we're celebrating one of the ocean’s most iconic relationships.

As apex predators, sharks maintain the balance that keeps reef ecosystems healthy. In return, vibrant reefs provide them with critical shelter, nurseries, and a thriving food web 🦈

Protect one, and you protect the other 🌊
