🚨 A NEW DEADLY THREAT. AN URGENT CALL TO ACTION. 🚨

💔 “Fentanyl is old news. Say hello to cychlorphine. It’s 10x stronger.” — Tom Wolf

The overdose crisis is evolving, and we cannot afford to look away.

A powerful emerging synthetic opioid called cychlorphine is raising serious concerns among public health and law enforcement officials. Reports indicate it may be up to 10 times as potent as fentanyl. It may also be mixed into counterfeit pills and other street drugs without the user’s knowledge.

Think about that. One pill. One experiment. One moment can change a family forever.

At BADD — Brothers Against Drug Deaths, this is personal. We know the devastating pain of losing someone we love. We know that behind every overdose statistic is a human being, a family, and a future that matters.

We must do more than sound the alarm. We must educate our young people, support families, expand access to treatment, reduce stigma, and make lifesaving resources available before another tragedy occurs.

⚠️ PLEASE SHARE THESE LIFE-SAVING MESSAGES:
🔹 Never assume a pill purchased outside a licensed pharmacy is safe.
🔹 Fentanyl test strips may not detect cychlorphine or other emerging synthetic opioids.
🔹 Keep naloxone (Narcan) available and call 911 immediately if you suspect an overdose. Give naloxone if available and follow the emergency dispatcher’s instructions.
🔹 Talk openly with your children, family, and friends about the dangers of counterfeit pills.
🔹 Remember: addiction is not a reason to abandon someone. Compassion, treatment, and recovery can save lives.

We cannot wait for another family to experience the pain of an unnecessary loss before we act.

To truly address the drug crisis and co-occurring mental illness in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, we have to look beyond emergency triage and ask: What happens between crisis and care?

The standard healthcare system relies heavily on fixed appointments, paperwork, and strict protocols. For individuals navigating severe addiction and trauma on the street, those hurdles are often insurmountable.

At Brothers Against Drug Deaths (BADD), we are championing a grassroots model designed to fill this critical gap:

🔹 Low-Barrier Peer Navigation: Daily street presence providing immediate accompaniment to clinical care.
🔹 Family Advocacy: Empowering loved ones with the legal and navigational tools (like Theris' Law) needed to intervene before an overdose.
🔹 Contingency Management Support: Integrating proven behavioral rewards for treatment milestones alongside MAT.
🔹 Culturally Rooted Recovery: Creating safe, trauma-informed support circles for underserved Black and Brown communities.
Recovery doesn't happen in isolation—it happens in community.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT: We plan to present our operational framework to public health leaders to scale peer-led, family-centered solutions in the Tenderloin.
