Delta Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Based in San Francisco, CA-Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Delta Zeta Omega was chartered September 8, 1946 as a graduate chapter in San Francisco, California. It is the fourth graduate chapter chartered in the Far Western Region; Inducted by Far Western Regional Director,Anna Beachman Browne. Delta Zeta Omega Chapter is the only graduate chapter in the City and County of San Francisco. Program initiatives include providing families with resource assistance, assisting youth in varying capacities, participating in health fairs, and other community service projects.

💗💚 Civic Engagement in Action! 💚💗
The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®️, Delta Zeta Omega Chapter, were proud to partner with Third Street Baptist Church for a Voting Forum Town Hall featuring congressional candidates Connie Chan and Scott Wiener.
This important community conversation provided an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, hear perspectives on issues impacting our communities, and encourage informed civic participation. Through collaboration and education, we continue to uphold our commitment to service, leadership, and empowering our communities through the power of the vote.
Thank you to Third Street Baptist Church, the candidates, and all who joined us in support of an informed and engaged electorate. Together, we reaffirm that our voices matter, our votes count, and our communities thrive when we participate!

Walking with Purpose, Standing for a Cure! 💜

On Saturday, the sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Delta Zeta Omega Chapter came together for a meaningful walk in support of ALS awareness and the ongoing fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

As part of our Walking Weekend, we laced up our sneakers, lifted our voices, and stepped forward in solidarity with individuals and families impacted by ALS. Through sisterhood and service, we remain committed to raising awareness, inspiring hope, and supporting the mission to find a cure.
Every step matters. Every voice counts. Together, we walk for a world without ALS! 💜👟

Walking Together in the Fight Against Breast Cancer! 💚💗

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Delta Zeta Omega Chapter proudly participated in our Walking Weekend as we joined fellow Northern California chapters, Alpha Nu Omega and Rho Chapter, for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in San Francisco, California! 

United in sisterhood, service, and purpose, we walked to honor survivors, remember loved ones, celebrate those currently fighting, and raise awareness in the ongoing fight against breast cancer. Together, we demonstrated the power of collective action and the impact we can make when we walk with purpose and lead with love. 💕🎀

We reached our Goal of $1908 raised towards finding a cure!!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Delta Zeta Omega Chapter is proud to participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2026 in support of Susan G. Komen and the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

As champions of service, sisterhood, and community, we are coming together to walk, raise awareness, honor those affected by breast cancer, celebrate survivors and thrivers, and remember those we have lost. Every step we take is a step toward hope, healing, and a future where no one faces breast cancer alone. 💗

September 8, 1946.
In a San Francisco shaped by the aftermath of World War II, the Great Migration, and a growing movement for racial equality, 11 visionary Black women came together to establish Delta Zeta Omega Chapter, the 101st chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.

At a time when Black Americans were building new lives and strengthening communities across the West—while confronting discrimination and inequality—these women understood that service, leadership, education, and collective action mattered.
Eight decades later, their vision lives on.

For 80 years, Delta Zeta Omega has served San Francisco and the Bay Area through scholarship, mentorship, health advocacy, civic engagement, and community partnerships—remaining steadfast in the mission of “Service to All Mankind.”

They built the foundation. We carry the legacy. The future is ours to shape.

Happy 80th Anniversary, Delta Zeta Omega! 💗💚

With our eyes on the fairway and our sights set on the future, we gathered for a powerful day of connection, collaboration, succession planning, and visioning. Together, we reflected on where we’ve been, aligned on where we’re headed, and mapped out meaningful programming to support the priorities and targets of our new administration.
