📢 When we come together, our collective voice is louder!

On October 20, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Ventura Superior Court interpreters will be going on a one-day strike.

💪 Show your support for our colleagues as they navigate better pay and working conditions with the court administration.

🚫 You can honor their one-day strike by not accepting any assignments to interpret should you be called on, for any language, no matter what credential you may or may not hold.

🏁 CAPIT is at the forefront of advocacy in our profession!

Did you know that CAPIT mobilized to oppose SP26-05, a proposal by the Judicial Council’s Court Executive Advisory Committee (CEAC) that would revise payment policies for independent contractor interpreters in California Superior Courts?

📣 CAPIT’s Judicial Interpreters Committee and WorkComp Interpreters Committee recognized that the proposal threatened more than interpreter compensation. It could reduce the availability of credentialed professionals and weaken meaningful access to justice for limited-English-proficient court users.
