The Pulse Memorial in the news.

Community leaders and residents gathered in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood to honor the victims of the Pulse nightclub massacre on its 10th anniversary. The vigil remembered the 49 people killed during the June 12, 2016, mass shooting at the gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

From our friends at Equality California: We are thrilled at the news that California Senate and Assembly leadership included most of the budget priorities that Equality California and our partners advocated for in their joint budget agreement — including the full $26m ask to help continue access to transition-related care for youth in California, our top Sacramento priority this year.

Special thanks to Assembly Speaker Speaker Robert Rivas, Senate pro Tem Senator Monique Limón, Senate Budget & Fiscal Review Chair Senator John Laird and Senate Health and Human Services Subcommittee Chair Senator Caroline Menjivar for their tireless work to ensure our priorities were included.

And thanks to YOU for helping us send emails to pro Tem Límon and Governor Newsom — more than 450 people sent messages their way!

The work isn't done; the legislature must approve the budget and the governor must sign before the end of the month. Keep an eye out for how you can be part of getting this across the finish line!

From our friends at the Transgender District: This month, Supervisor Mahmood's office is leading to update San Francisco's Fair Chance Ordinance to protect reproductive freedom and gender-based expression.

Across the country, states are criminalizing basic human rights. This ordinance will ensure when people move to our city they will not be discriminated against by potential employers or housers simply for getting an abortion or participating in a drag performance.

The ordinance will come to a vote before the Board of Supervisors next week. Join us Bilal Mahmood, community stakeholders and leaders, and one of the original authors of the Fair Chance Ordinance .cohen for a rally at 9am on Thursday June 18 as we pass these protections into law.
