Jews for Jesus has always been about one thing: sharing the hope we have in Yeshua with our people. We’re thankful that the attention surrounding our café in Jerusalem has given us a chance to share that message in wide-reaching and unexpected ways.

Our Café BaSimta in Jerusalem became the center of a national controversy in Israel over whether businesses should stay open on Shabbat.

Do Messianic Jews still observe Torah? Great question!

Another way of asking this question would be: if someone believes in Yeshua as the Jewish Messiah, can they still celebrate Shabbat, keep kosher, or observe the biblical feasts? If so, why would they?

Take a moment and swipe through to explore how Messianic Jews view Torah, tradition, and our Jewish identity.

Many Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) Jewish people lead insular lives, in order to build a legacy of faithfulness to the Torah.

We have a heart to love and serve the Haredim! And we’ve found that prayer is always a crucial part of reaching out.

So, will you join us in praying for the Haredim? Check out our Prayer Guide (available in ten languages!) to begin your journey today.

Haredi Jews (also known as ultra-Orthodox) are the most rapidly growing segment of the Jewish population across the world today. They are zealous, God-fearing people who live in tightknit communities throughout the world. But, they are among the people groups least-reached by the gospel.

Prayer has the power to change things. The Psalms provide a glimpse into what honest prayer looks like:

• Sometimes the psalmist expresses anger towards God, or asks for retribution on enemies (17:13).
• At other times, they testify of God's righteousness and love (66:20).
• There are psalms that offer prayers of confession (51:1-2), and those that ask for God's guidance (86:11) and protection (60:5).
• There is even a psalm for unanswered prayer (13:1-6).

What kind of prayer do you need to bring to God right now? He's ready to listen and faithful to provide.

What makes someone Jewish?

No matter how differently we express our Jewish identity, we have one thing in common: we’re Jewish...and nobody can take that away.

Your identity is incredibly valuable, and it’s not something that can be lost or stolen. You are Jewish whether it was passed on from your mother or your father, whether you eat kosher or not, if you go to synagogue and fast or stay home and eat, and yes, you’re Jewish even if you follow Jesus.

Tell us below what Jewishness looks like in your life!

The continued survival of the Jewish people is a testament to the existence, the provision, and the love of God. The prophet Jeremiah wrote, 'It is the Lord who provides the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night, and who stirs the sea into roaring waves.

His name is the Lord of Heaven's Armies, and this is what he says: "I am as likely to reject my people Israel as 1 am to abolish the laws of nature!'" (31:35-36).

What a clear picture of God's unending devotion. God keeps His promises! How can you trust Him today?

The Torah states that God made an eternal covenant with the Jewish people. Yet maybe you are a Christian and have heard that God is finished with the Jewish people and that the Christian church is now the “new Israel.”

If you’re Jewish, maybe you’ve heard that some Christians believe your covenant with God is no longer valid. Click the link below as we unpack this line of thinking.

If you’re Jewish, maybe you’ve heard that some Christians believe your covenant with God is no longer valid. Where did these claims come from?

Despite some of the rhetoric you may be hearing these days, believing in and following Jesus doesn’t produce antisemitism at all. In fact, following the Jewish Messiah should instead prompt a deep love for the Jewish people.

Unfortunately, many today and throughout history have called themselves “Christians” while actually hating the very people God called His own. But we know that antisemitism not only goes against everything the Jewish people who penned the New Testament wrote, it also goes against everything Jesus himself proclaimed.

If we claim to love God, we should love what and who He loves.

How can you stand up against antisemitism in your world?

You may be wondering, “why would an organization focused on sharing the hope of the Jewish Messiah be discussing a topic like modern-day psychics?”

While it may seem a little out of place on its face, studies show that the use of some form of fortune-telling has increased dramatically in recent days, among even religious demographics. So whether you are Jewish, Christian, or simply exploring the claims of Yeshua, we thought we’d unpack the question “what does the Bible actually say about psychics?”

Fear drives many people to seek out fortune tellers and divination. However, God tells us not to fear, but to trust in his blessings.

We know that sometimes, we are going to face opposition. But we also know, without a doubt, that God is continuing to do incredible work in the hearts and lives of our Jewish neighbors around the world through these efforts.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we continue to share the hope of the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua.
