Smiles all around because it's the first day of school and our families are looking (and feeling) their best!🧡

PLUS face painting and a photo booth to make the day even more special.

Big thanks to our volunteers for running the day, to our donors for the backpacks and beauty products, and especially to Soles4Souls for making sure our families step into the school year in style🙌

It's Thank You Thursday - TWO amazing partners showing up this week! 🧡

Ironclad, Inc. donated 100 toiletry kits - 50 full size, 50 travel size - for families in our programs!

Apple volunteers came out and restocked our entire clothing closet, making sure families have what they need on the shelves!

Thank you both for the support - we're so grateful! 🙌

📣 Announcing the newest member of the Hamilton Families Mission Committee: Catherine MacLennan!

The Mission Committee is a group of young professionals supporting Hamilton Families through corporate engagement, marketing, fundraising, and volunteering.

Catherine (Cat) MacLennan is an Account Manager at the independent creative advertising agency Erich and Kallman. She was introduced to Hamilton Families by fellow board members Austen and Ali Rae and first became involved by volunteering at after-school programming and holiday events.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cat earned a B.A. in American Studies and French from Trinity College (Connecticut). Having moved here from Boston in 2023, Cat is passionate about supporting the San Francisco community and is especially committed to helping children and families thrive by making them feel accepted and supported. She values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within the Hamilton Families community and contribute to its mission. Outside of work and volunteering, Cat enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Shoutout to our community partners from the past week!📣

Repair the World showed up for a fun Friday at the park, playing games with kids in our programs and spending 1-on-1 with them.

And Project Glimmer donated a MASSIVE haul (over $30,000 in retail value!) of beauty, skincare, and hair care products, helping our families feel confident heading into the new school year!

📣 Announcing the newest member of the Hamilton Families Mission Committee: Olivia Kem!

The Mission Committee works closely with our team to support corporate engagement, marketing and communications, fundraising, and volunteer efforts. It's a great way for young professionals in San Francisco to join our mission and develop key skills in the nonprofit sector.

Olivia Kem joined the Mission Committee earlier this month. She is the Manager of the Product Testing team at Old Navy, where she partners with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate new assortment opportunities and lead in-store testing of visual merchandising concepts. Since joining Gap Inc. through the company's Rotational Management Program in 2021, Olivia has held several roles within Old Navy's Merchandise Planning organization before transitioning into her current position. She earned a Finance Degree from Santa Clara University and is originally from Arizona.

Olivia was introduced to Hamilton Families through the Old Navy Merchandise Planning Volunteer Committee, where she helps organize initiatives such as the annual backpack drive. Giving back has been a consistent part of her life, from volunteering at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix during high school to serving as Philanthropy Chair for her sorority in college, and she is excited to continue supporting families in her community with Hamilton Families.

Our beloved Exploratorium field trip is one of the highlights of the summer for our families, but it only works because volunteers show up to help kids get from exhibit to exhibit.

Last week, Albourne's team did exactly that - and sponsored lunch for the whole group.

Special thanks to Patrick M., who sits on HF's Mission Committee and has been the driving force behind Albourne's involvement with us.
