เชิญชวนเข้าฟังบรรยายโดย อ. Paul Chambers ในวันอังคารที่ 13 ตุลาคมนี้!
เนื่องในวาระครบรอบ 10 ปี การจากไปของกษัตริย์ภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ขอเชิญชวนผู้สนใจทุกท่านเข้าร่วมรับฟังการบรรยายออนไลน์หัวข้อ “อิทธิพลกองทัพในประเทศไทย พ.ศ.2569” โดย ดร.Paul Chambers อาจารย์ประจำ Oklahoma University ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ในวันที่ 13 ตุลาคม เวลาสองทุ่มตรงตามเวลาประเทศไทย (หกโมงเช้าตามเวลา Los Angeles แปดโมงเช้าตามเวลา Chicago และเก้าโมงเช้าตามเวลา New York)
ดร.Paul Chambers เป็นนักวิชาการด้านรัฐศาสตร์ที่ชื่อเสียงในหมู่ผู้ศึกษาการเมืองไทย ได้รับการยอมรับว่ามีความเชี่ยวชาญพิเศษด้านความมั่นคงและบทบาททางการเมืองของสถาบันกองทัพไทย ดร.Paul มีผลงานวิจัยและได้ตีพิมพ์หนังสือในหัวข้อดังกล่าวหลายเล่ม และได้ทำวิจัยรวมถึงเป็นอาจารย์ประจำมหาวิทยาลัยต่าง ๆ ในประเทศไทยและลาวอยู่เป็นเวลากว่า 25 ปี งานศึกษาของ ดร.Paul หลายชิ้นเน้นตีแผ่บทบาททางการเมืองและเศรษฐกิจของกองทัพ ซึ่งทราบกันดีว่าเป็นสถาบันที่ทรงอำนาจในประเทศไทย ดร.Paul จึงตกเป็นเป้าของการกลั่นแกล้งทางการเมืองโดยรัฐไทยมาเป็นระยะ อย่างไรก็ตาม ดร.Paul ยังคงผลิตงานศึกษาค้นคว้าในหัวข้อนี้มาอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยล่าสุดมีผลงานเป็นบรรณาธิการหนังสือชุด Plundering Security? On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, all of you are invited to attend an online lecture, "Thailand’s Influential Military, 2026," by Dr. Paul Chambers, a faculty member at Oklahoma University, USA. The lecture will be held on October 13 at 8:00 p.m. Thailand time (6:00 a.m. Los Angeles time, 8:00 a.m. Chicago time, and 9:00 a.m. New York time).
Dr. Paul Chambers is a political scientist well known among scholars of Thai politics and is recognized for his particular expertise in security and the political role of the Thai military as an institution. He has conducted research and published several books on the subject, and has spent more than 25 years doing research and teaching at various universities in Thailand and Laos. Many of his studies focus on exposing the political and economic role of the military, which is widely known to be a powerful institution in Thailand. As a result, Dr. Paul has periodically been the target of political harassment by the Thai state. Nevertheless, he has continued to produce research on this topic. Most recently, he served as editor of the book Plundering Security? The Economic Power of Thailand's Military, a collection of articles on the Thai military's network of economic interests, written by distinguished scholars from both within Thailand and abroad.
You can attend the lecture via the Zoom app or through the page พริษฐ์ ชิวารักษ์ - เพนกวิน Parit Chiwarak. It will also be streamed on the Association for Thai Democracy's YouTube channel.
