Last week, SFPD Sergeant Drewkai Butler was honored by Supervisor Melgar (D7) & Supervisor Chen (D11) for his outstanding service to the Taraval Station, right before he moves to the Park Station.

At OMI-CPP, we want to send you our deepest thanks and biggest congratulations, as you begin this next chapter of your journey. While we're definitely going to miss seeing you on our neighborhood streets, we're excited for the community that's about to gain an incredible officer.

Your presence, kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for the people you served made a real difference. You didn't just patrol our neighborhood: you became part of it. Thank you for every conversation, every act of service, every moment you showed up for our community, and for the trust and relationships you built along the way. Those things matter more than words can fully express.

As you move on to serve a new neighborhood, please know that your impact here will not be forgotten. You leave behind a community that is grateful for you, proud of you, and cheering you on from afar. Keep shining, keep leading with heart, and keep being the amazing officer and human being that you are.

On behalf of OMI-CPP, congratulations to neighborhood artist Shrey Purohit on your engagement to Bianca!

You taught us that art can bloom where concrete stands, that beauty can rise from ordinary corners, and that a single vision can transform the way a community sees itself. Through your artwork, Ingleside walls became windows, streets became stories, and familiar paths became places of wonder.

Now, as you step into this new chapter, we're celebrating a different kind of creation: a life built together, brushstroke by brushstroke, dream by dream. May your love be like the murals you've shared with us: bold enough to stop people in their tracks, vibrant enough to weather every season, and expansive enough to make room for joy.

Thank you for helping our neighborhood imagine something more beautiful. We are honored to witness this beautiful moment in your own story.

On behalf of OMI-CPP, it is with profound sadness that we join our community in mourning the passing of beloved Pastor Emeritus A. Ray Gentle, of the Cosmopolitan Baptist Church (199 Farallones).

For nearly six decades, beginning in 1967, he devoted his life to serving the people of this neighborhood with unwavering faith, compassion, wisdom, and love.

Through times of challenge and times of celebration, he remained a steady and comforting presence, walking alongside generations of families, and witnessing the remarkable evolution of our community through thick and thin.

As we reflect on his extraordinary life of service, we are reminded that the true measure of a person is found in the lives they uplift and the love they leave behind. By that measure, his impact was immeasurable.

On behalf of OMI-CPP, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, parishioners, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We hold them close in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

May his memory be a blessing, his example a guiding light, and his legacy forever woven into the fabric of the community he so faithfully served and loved.
