On June 3, Nākaloka comes to Grace Cathedral for a special immersive experience benefiting Urban Angels SF. Proceeds from the event will help provide educational support, mentorship, school supplies, and resources for local students experiencing homelessness and poverty.

This immersive, “sacred experience” will feature candlelight, live music, storytelling, and reflection — all in support of children and families experiencing homelessness and poverty in San Francisco.

Meet Jayden, Age 7. At home, he shares a small space in a shelter with two siblings. There is no desk. No door to close. No quiet.

He wasn’t behind in reading because he lacked ability.
He was behind because he lacked space to focus.

He just needed a little quiet that we were able to provide him with a set of noise canceling headphones!

That small shift changed everything.

We’re one week into The Focus Fund, working to help 250 children like Jayden get the tools they need to focus and succeed in school.

A child in San Francisco is trying to learn to read right now. But three siblings talk loudly nearby, a television blares in the background, and traffic rattles the windows outside.

Imagine trying to learn to read while living in shelter, or in a tiny apartment as your family struggles to make ends meet.

Teachers tell us that some students put their heads down in moments like these — not because they don’t care, but because the NOISE makes it nearly impossible to concentrate.

That’s why we created The Focus Fund.

For the past two years, Urban Angels SF has helped 300+ children keep learning despite housing and income instability.
This spring, we’re reaching 250 more.

Today, The Focus Fund officially kicks off.

And tools change everything:

🎧 Headphones = a quiet place to think
💻 A Chromebook = the ability to show up
📚 Consistent tutoring = confidence

$100 gives one child a full year of uninterrupted learning.

Our February goal: $25,000 to equip 250 students with the focus and support they deserve.
