It was truly an honor to recognize Dr. Neil Powe at the 37th Annual Authors Luncheon for his extraordinary contributions to both medicine and our broader community. As Co-Chair of the NKF/ASN Task Force on Reassessing the Inclusion of Race in Diagnosing Kidney Diseases, Dr. Powe has played a pivotal role in advancing more equitable and evidence-based approaches to kidney care nationwide.
Through his leadership, this work is helping to transform how kidney disease is diagnosed and treated, ensuring that patients receive more accurate, fair, and compassionate care. His commitment to addressing disparities and improving outcomes for all is both powerful and deeply inspiring.
Thank you, Dr. Powe, for all that you do. It was a privilege to celebrate your impact and honor your leadership.

A huge thank you to , author of The Other Side of Change, for joining us at this year’s NKF Authors Luncheon. She shared a powerful reminder that even in sudden change, we can find direction by reconnecting with the deeper “why” behind what we loved—and letting that guide our next chapter.
If you’re feeling inspired, there’s still time to be part of this work.
