Oftentimes, the gendered sibling dynamic can leave daughters feeling resentment decades later. Raise your hand if you’re a daughter who was in a constant battle with your mom! Raise your hand if you’re a daughter whose brother had way more freedom! Do you find that these same dynamics persist into adulthood and how do you make peace with that? Were you banned from sleepovers while your brother threw house parties… or smoked w**d in his room?

In Denmo Ibrahim’s new play, Arab Spring, sibling dynamics are explored in the wake of a father’s passing. This show is about the revolutions within our own families. Arab Spring is for eldest daughters, little brothers and everyone in between.

Arab Spring is co-produced by Golden Thread Productions and San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Company (SFBATCO).

Sign the letter and support California performing arts today!

The Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund is up for renewal in the CA legislature, and we need your help to support the budget allocation of $40 million in the 2026-2027 budget. The PAEPF was designed to strengthen small nonprofit performing arts organizations – theaters, orchestras, dance companies, and other live performance groups with annual budgets under $2 million – by helping them meet payroll obligations and sustain employment for artists and staff.

Actor’s Equity has created a one-click letter to ask your legislators to support the $40 million budget ask for the PAEPF. Numbers matter here! Make sure to sign your support and share this with your networks. Urge Your Lawmaker to Support the PAEPF! Currently 544 letters have been submitted. By the end of the week it would be great to see that number reach 1500! Let's make that happen.
