The Legacy Film Festival on Aging is proud to present a film series portraying the richness of later life. The festival promises to inspire, educate and entertain inter-generational audiences on how to live well and enjoy life, despite life's challenges.

This week we look at the importance of intergenerational connections and support—the ways championing your health requires the support of community and family.

Enid & Mami (18 min., 2020) chronicles the life of Enid Mojica-McGinnis, an educator and pastor in Buffalo, NY, caring for her mother, Emilia Roman. The film, directed by Julia Reagan, explores the humor, hardship, and, often, the "honorable" challenges of caregiving.

The short documentary “Being 97” filmed just before the philosopher Herber Finagrette’s death in 2018 was directed by his grandson, Andrew Hasse, and compassionately captures his beloved grandfather’s last days: the stillness of time, the loss of ability, and the need to come to terms with asking for help.
