This week we look at the importance of intergenerational connections and support—the ways championing your health requires the support of community and family.

Enid & Mami (18 min., 2020) chronicles the life of Enid Mojica-McGinnis, an educator and pastor in Buffalo, NY, caring for her mother, Emilia Roman. The film, directed by Julia Reagan, explores the humor, hardship, and, often, the "honorable" challenges of caregiving.

Every week in May for Older Americans Month we will be providing links to films freely available online—all of them, films we’ve screened at our past festivals. We’ll explore the many ways older adults can champion their health. Whether it’s physical well being, preventative care, social connections, or mental health and resiliency—we hope that these films will inspire you to champion, in whatever way you are able to, your own well being.
