Become a part of a neighborhood group.

The sharing of skills and gifts has already started. With the simplest of needs two neighbors started helping one another. One needed her garden weeded and her neighbor needed the use of a washing machine. Together they answered the needs of each other. You may also have a simple need or skill you enjoy sharing. Over 50 neighbors signed-up and exercise together every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday

at (9:45-10:45am) at Bethel Church on Alemany. On Thursday’s at 9:30am we walk around Cayuga Park together and at 10am some of your neighbors are shooting basket balls together. We also have monthly craft projects, computer lessons, lectures, pot lucks and field trips scheduled. Make a connection, meet a neighbor, find a friend.

Thinking About Moving to Residential Care? Join us on ZOOM

Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 1:00pm

Join Juliet Rothman for an informative discussion about the questions you should ask before making the move.

Considering a move to residential care is a major life decision. Before making the transition, it's important to understand your options and think through what matters most to you.

Topics include:

Location, location, location: Do you want to remain in San Francisco, elsewhere in the Bay Area, or be closer to family?
Your care needs: What level of assistance do you need with daily activities now, and what might you need in the future?
Finding the right fit: What services, amenities, and community features are most important to your quality of life?
Whether you're planning ahead for yourself or helping a loved one explore options, this session will provide practical information to help you make an informed decision.

Declutterr....End of Summer and Before the Holidays!

Join Arete Nichola on Wednesday August 19th at 11:00 at Bethel Church, 2525 Alemany at Ottawa.

Both Spring and Fall decluttering are equally as wonderful and productive. Let’s face it, how many items are still leftover from your Spring clean list? How many new areas of your home do you wish to tackle? By breaking decluttering down into two Spring and Fall sessions per year you will accomplish more and not be as overwhelmed., you will recognize the places where you are stuck and then learn how you can get outside support.

We will discuss different organizational methods that will help you to create a space that is an open, comfortable but not crowded and that will reduce your risk of tripping or falls.

It is withsadness that we share the news that our Cayuga neighbor and lifelong RomeStreet resident, Pat"Patricia" G., has passed away.

Many of us remember Pat with her roller bag, heading off to one of the many technology classes offered by Community Living Campaign, the San Francisco Public Library, or other community sites. A lifelong learner, she was determined to build hercomputer skills and especially enjoyed working with Excel.

She approached everyclass with curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to learn. She especially enjoyedworking with Dana.Pat first joinedour Community Connectors through our dear friend

Carmelita. Carmelita had knownPat since she was a little girl and remained a lifelong friend to her family. She always kept Pat on her radar—checking in, encouraging her, and making sure shegot to class. On her tripsdowntown, Pat often walked along Alemany passing the home of James and Carol. They were wonderful neighbors who would stop to visit with her, especiallyduring the isolating days of the pandemic. Those small conversations meant somuch.

Pat also shared in some of our happiest moments. She attended our backyard wedding and created abeautiful handmade card for us, complete with photographs from the day—a giftwe will always treasure.Pat was an important part of the Cayuga community. She will be deeply missed by those whoknew her.

May she rest inpeace. If you knew Pat, we'd love to hear yourmemories.

Music Exploration With Ryan: Formative Musical Memories MONDAY (7/13 at 11am) at Bethel.

GREETINGS NEIGHBORS! A little late getting this out to you...but wanted to invite you to Musical Exploration with Ryan Wilcox on Monday at 11:00am at Bethel Church (2525 Alemany).Music Exploration With Ryan: Formative Musical Memories

All are invited to share an early musical memory that's tied with a particular song, piece, or kind of music. For this session, think of a memory from your youth that is somehow centered around music. Do you remember a song that helped you define your own taste, or the first record you bought? Or do you have a strong memory of an important moment that is inextricably linked with music — an early crush, a memorable family moment, or a memorable listening experience? Tell us a bit about this music and how it impacted you. Feel free to bring background history on the music, as well. After a brief intro activity, we'll share our youthful music.
Light snacks provided.
