Flashback to our screening of The Perfect Neighbor in DC! One of the highlights of the evening was hearing Dr. Rashawn Ray guide a powerful conversation about the role of storytelling, public safety, and systemic change.

Joined by our founder Takema Robinson and Bethany Young (DC Justice Lab), the discussion challenged us to think beyond a single tragedy and toward the structures that shape our communities every day. These are the conversations that help transform witness into action.

Thank you to Greater Washington Community Foundation for hosting this special evening and for continuing to stand alongside us in this work.

Pam Dias, advocate and mother of Ajike "AJ" Owens, took the stage at the The National Action Network's 35th Anniversary Convention and did what she always does—told the truth.

Speaking on justice for Ajike, she uplifted the power of community, the urgency of accountability, and the critical role of advocates like Ben Crump, Reverend Al Sharpton, and Joy Reid in keeping these stories—and these families—front and center.

This is what it looks like when we refuse to let names be forgotten and turn pain into purpose.
