Did you know?

According to the CDC, life-threatening hypothermia can develop at temperatures between 40°F and 50°F.

Many people associate hypothermia with severe winter storms, but research has found that most hypothermia incidents among people experiencing homelessness occur during periods of low to moderate cold stress—not during extreme blizzards.

That's one reason why access to warm clothing remains important throughout the year. When overnight temperatures drop and emergency warming centers aren't activated, a coat can serve as a critical layer of protection.

At One Warm Coat, we're reminded that the need for warmth doesn't begin with the first snowfall—and it doesn't end when winter does.
