The Wedgwood International Seminar will conduct the fourteenth Zoom lecture on Friday, October 9, 2026.

The lecture, “An Earthen Ware in The Antique Stile”, will be delivered by Diane Ehrenpreis, Curator of Decorative Arts and Historical Interiors, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.

Diane has worked in the curatorial department at Monticello for twenty-four years, teaching, researching, caring for and building the collection. Prior to being at Monticello, she worked in the curatorial field at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Historic New England, and the Trustees of Reservations. It is especially interesting to note that Diane supervised a complete study and reinstallation of Monticello’s second and third floor rooms, as well as Jefferson’s private suite. Diane has written several articles on Thomas Jefferson’s furniture and the aesthetic intent of his decorating. Her current article, “This is the Offering of the Ladies”, Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson’s War Years, is in the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography.

We will begin the meeting at 2:30 PM Eastern Time in the U.S., 7:30 PM in the U.K.

October 11, 2026 lecture ‘Virginians and Their Dishes: Ceramic Highlights from the Greater Williamsburg Area and the People Who Owned Them’, given by Angelika Kuettner, Curator of Ceramics and Glass, Colonial Williamsburg. Please note the start time of 1:00 p.m. This is a co-sponsorship with the American Decorative Arts Forum.

The 1:00 p.m. lecture will be followed by a second lecture at 2:15 Sparkling Reflections: Stories from Colonial Williamsburg’s Glass Collection.

This lectures will be both live at the Gunn Theater and also available via Zoom. Links to the Zoom portion will follow.

Update!

The amazing online database for the Royal Porcelain Collection Dresden, is back! Almost six-months after it was the victim of a cyber attack. While the Asian ceramics are completed, they are working on the Meissen, and an interesting feature is that they are capturing and including images of Meissen porcelain with incised Johanneum marks on the website, an added feature!
