SF has been home to Tech2Empower for years, and we are so proud to bring the program back with a a dedicated focus on immigrant and refugee-serving organizations.

Over the weekend, the world observed World Refugee Day.

It is a day to pause and recognize the people who have been forced from their homes by conflict, violence, and persecution. As of the end of 2025, more than 117 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide, including 41.6 million refugees. Nearly four in ten are children.

At WAKE, this work is close to our hearts. We have partnered with organizations across the globe that walk alongside refugees as they rebuild their lives and find community.

Our Tech2Empower® for Ukraine program brings together NGOs supporting displaced Ukrainians, and our upcoming USA programs in NYC and SF this fall are dedicated to immigrant and refugee action.

Refugees are our neighbors. Today and every day, they deserve our support.

As the war continues into its fifth year, the women-led organizations supporting Ukrainian refugees and displaced communities are doing vital work with limited resources.

Over the past several years, we've had the honor of partnering with civil society leaders who are rebuilding lives, defending human rights, supporting survivors of conflict-related violence, and holding their communities together through unimaginable circumstances.

Their courage is the reason this program exists.

Svitlana Zaluzhna, Founder & CEO of Open Nations, is building trust and social cohesion between displaced Ukrainian families and host communities in Lithuania.

After her first Tech2Empower for Ukraine experience, her team gained clarity in how they communicate their mission. After her second, they developed a full impact report, now a cornerstone of their fundraising and donor relationships.
