Last week, the Bay Area hosted the second stop in Tech2Empower®’s bi-coastal USA program. Immigrant and refugee serving nonprofits and tech Advisors came together for a day of hands-on work. 🤝

On Friday, nonprofit teams and Advisors dove into projects the organizations chose themselves, built around the support they actually need. Seeing both groups in one room and how much gets done in a single day is a reminder of why cross-sector collaboration matters.

Thank you to the Bay Area nonprofits who brought their real challenges to the table, and to the Advisors who gave their time, skills, and care to meet them there. 💛

Last week, Tech2Empower® brought immigrant and refugee serving nonprofits together with a group of tech advisors in New York.

Thursday evening we got to know the organizations and the work they’re doing in their communities. Friday, Advisors and nonprofit teams dove into projects the organizations chose themselves, grounded in what they actually need.

This is a critical moment for organizations serving immigrant and refugee communities. We’re inspired by the organizations continuing to show up for their neighbors, and by the Advisors standing alongside them.

Meet the Tech2Empower® SF Advisor Cohort! 🌉

After an incredible first program in NYC last week, we’re heading home to the Bay Area this Friday. These Advisors will team up with local immigrant and refugee focused organizations on hands-on projects to strengthen their work and expand their reach.

Meet our Tech2Empower® NYC Advisor Cohort! 💜

These change makers are dedicating their time and talents to our first-ever NYC program, kicking off this Friday (with San Francisco next week!).

Together, they'll team up with 9 immigrant and refugee organizations on projects to strengthen their capacity and reach. We're so grateful for this community and the connections we're building in NYC 🗽

We're proud to introduce our NGO partners for Tech2Empower for Ukraine 🇺🇦

These organizations are doing vital, community-rooted work to support Ukrainian families and refugees, foster integration, and strengthen resilience across Ukraine and the EU. We're honored to collaborate with them during this upcoming Impact Challenge:

Open Nations – Founded in Lithuania in 2022 by a group of Ukrainian women, this expert center for social cohesion builds inclusive communities through family camps, cultural events, and dialogue-driven integration programs for displaced Ukrainian families.

NUKC Prosperis – A Lithuanian nonprofit using Playback Theatre and other participatory arts methods to help refugees, migrants, and local communities affected by war and displacement build resilience, connection, and belonging.

NGO PURK Kool – A Ukrainian folk hobby school in Pärnu, Estonia, giving Ukrainian children and families a space to preserve their language and culture while building new lives, bridging Ukrainian and Estonian communities.

UBe.UkrainianBeat – A Vilnius-based DJ and cultural community founded by Ukrainian artists, using music and creative initiatives like BeatSpectrum and Modern Sound Therapy to support the emotional wellbeing of Ukrainian migrants.

We look forward to supporting these mission-driven organizations as they take on strategic projects and continue deepening their impact. Stay tuned as we kick off a powerful week of collaboration, learning, and shared purpose.

We are thrilled to share our Tech2Empower for Ukraine Advisor Cohort!

We are so proud of these women for volunteering their time, effort, and hearts for a week of collaboration and connection. This cohort brings a vast array of skills, from data management to marketing. We are so excited to see what these women are able to accomplish, collaborating with organizations supporting Ukrainian refugees in the Baltics and helping Ukrainian leaders rebuild their lives in Lithuania.

With deep gratitude for her enduring impact, we share that Heather Ramsey, WAKE’s co-founder, has stepped down from our Advisory Board.

Heather was there at the very beginning of WAKE, co-creating a vision of what becomes possible when women lead change in their communities, share knowledge and expertise, and become allies and advocates for one another. She helped build not just the organization, but its flagship program Tech2Empower®️, its global network across 11 countries, and through her leadership and vision shaped the Advisory Board into the dynamic, strategic body that it is today.

Since 2021, Heather has served as Advisory Board Chair and Co-Chair, bringing her wisdom and commitment to every advisor and nonprofit leader she encountered along the way. Few people have the opportunity to grow something from an idea into a lasting institution. Heather has done exactly that.

Her imprint on the WAKE community will be felt for years to come, and we are deeply grateful for everything she has given to this organization and to the women whose lives she has helped transform.

We wish her every success and happiness in all that lies ahead.
