SF Transit Riders (SFTRU) is a rider-based, grassroots organization working to improve transit in San Francisco. We ride transit and are frustrated with the delays, slow travel times, and lack of funding for better service. Our City is often on the cutting edge, but our transit system has fallen behind that of other major cities. San Franciscans have consistently supported transit, and they deserve a reliable, robust, and 21st-century transit system.

San Francisco Transit Riders has officially signed on to the ballot argument for the Connect Bay Area Regional Transportation Ballot Measure. Passing this measure and Prop H: Stronger Muni for All will prevent harmful transit cuts and set us up for future growth in a more connected Bay Area.

COMMUNITY Magazine, a non-profit, community-led print magazine dedicated to telling Muni's greatest stories, is gearing up for its Fall 2026 issue (just in time for Transit Month).
The team is looking for writers to share transit stories, Muni tips, and ideas for the future of Bay Area transit. You might write a short love letter to your favorite operator, offer your take on transit etiquette, explore a piece of local transit history, or pitch something entirely new.
