HOMEY - a 26 year old violence prevention program is AGAIN being threatened with billionaire budget cuts!! It seems that youth and young adults are no longer a priority in our community! The city is cutting vital violence prevention programs despite a rise in crime! Does that make sense? Our program served over 2,600 people last year and we continue to provide high level services despite a 56% budget cut last year. Donate to homey check our bio.

Day 2: Teachers are our community trust. They take care of our babies and youth when we are at work. They educate and love on our children and teach them about the world in their under resourced classrooms and school. Do the right thing and give them what they need to thrive in one of the most expensive places to live in the world. The concentration of wealth from billionaires in our region is over 1 trillion dollars. We can find a way to pay teachers their fair share of that wealth. One day longer, one day stronger!!!

HOMEY stands in unwavering solidarity with the United Educators of San Francisco (UESF) and our labor union allies as they begin their strike 🪧 today!!!

Out of respect for the picket line, HOMEY will suspend all programming at school sites until the strike is resolved.

We urgently call on the leadership of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) to negotiate swiftly and in good faith with the union. A teacher’s working conditions are students’ learning conditions. A resolution is vital to ensure our children and youth can access high-quality education and that teachers receive livable wages and the support they deserve in one of the world’s most expensive cities to live in.

Our city’s teachers and school staff are a valuable public resource, and they have our full support. We want to remind our community that young people learn from our example, and fighting for workers’ rights is a key part of San Francisco’s history of democracy and social justice. HOMEY’s youth stand in solidarity with their educators and fully support this action.

When we fight! We Win! UESF, we are with you and we will see you on the picket line.

Thank you to Milani, Ison, Reminisce, Mingus and all the artists who put on the’Ode to Frisco’ at La Ofrenda’s Arroz y Frijoles Gallery. It was an amazing turnout. They still have the art installed for another week, if folks want to slide by. We will be open Thursday and Friday if folks want to check out the amazing work of these young artists. Xoxoxo. Ya’ll amazing!!!!
