We’re proud to be part of the Food and Agriculture Action Coalition Toward Sovereignty aka alongside dozens of food organizations across San Francisco working towards creating a citywide food and agriculture system.

We’re looking for volunteers for FAACTS’ 3rd Annual Food Action Summit: Growing Connections to Feed Action on Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26. The Summit brings together community leaders, farmers, advocates, policy makers, healthcare professionals, and grassroots organizations for a series of panels like The Future of Good Food Education, Alternative Food Networks, Food Recovery Practices, Innovation in Food Access and more!

Volunteers will get free access to both days of the Summit and will be asked to assist with:
• Summit Set Up
• Registration: Welcoming attendees, handing out badges, answering general FAQs
• Directional Assistance
• Meal Set-Up
• Summit Close Out: packing up decor, signage, inventory
• Notetakers for Breakout Sessions

While every Apprentice Showcase Dinner is unique—each defined by the distinct personality of its cohort members and its seasonal namesake—the Grape Cohort holds a significant place in my journey. Joining Farming Hope at the end of July, this was the first group I saw through the entire lifecycle: from recruitment and interviewing to facilitating their workshops. Watching them present their signature dishes at the culmination of their 12-week Apprenticeship was a profound full-circle moment. Seeing them stand tall and present their dishes was a special milestone for me as their Workforce Empowerment Manager. I am incredibly proud of the confidence they’ve built and seeing them lean into their innate talents. This night will always hold a very special place in my heart. 💜

Now until December 31st, our Board of Directors will match up to $75,000 in online donations. By donating, you are directly contributing to providing life-sustaining employment for our Apprentices, helping them support their families, and feeding it forward for our neighbors in need.

Double your impact today by visiting our website or the link in our bio to donate.

A big thank you from all of us at Farming Hope to you - our community, our supporters, our partners, our volunteers, and our neighbors, who give us a reason to be grateful every day. Thank you for taking immediate action during the SNAP delays to ensure our food insecure families and neighbors continue having a reliable and inviting space to select fresh, healthy groceries and hot nourishing meals. Your support enables us to provide life-sustaining employment to our Apprentices while serving over 4,200 made from scratch meals to our local community each week. We couldn’t do this work without you.

Sending you our heartfelt thanks and wishing you all joy and warmth this holiday season.

Last week, the federal government notified states that November SNAP disbursements would not be made. This sent communities into a tailspin. How will we feed the millions that rely on these benefits?

Yesterday, Mayor Lurie announced that through a public/private partnership, $18M would be made available as gift cards to the 112,000 people in our city on SNAP benefits.

At Farming Hope, we believe food is a human right. We know that this disruption will have lasting impacts and we’re ready to serve an additional 150 families at our in house meal and grocery programs.

But we need your support. Donate today and sign up to volunteer. Links in bio!

We couldn’t have asked for a better guest to kick off our inaugural Book Talk series than . It was an honor to hear Chef Katie’s story and learn about her journey starting off as an intern and working her way up to leading one of the most iconic restaurants in San Francisco.

We’re grateful for nights like these where our Apprentices have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from culinary leaders, who lead with the same values that we do, with compassion, kindness, and care. One piece of advice that Chef Katie gave to our new Grape cohort was to work hard and approach each day with a beginner’s mindset - with openness, curiosity, and humility. Thank you, Chef, for this great reminder and for helping to create a memorable experience for all of us.

Last week, we welcomed the incomparable team from to cook alongside our Apprentices. Together, they created a phenomenal meal and even more inspiring atmosphere. The joy, warmth, and radical hospitality that Chef Ollie and the Hilda and Jesse team brought matched our passion for inclusion and it showed. We are tremendously grateful to their team and for our community who came to support.
