The San Francisco Chapter of the Links is one of 61 chapters selected to participate in the fifth year of The Links, National Black K.A.R.E. Initiative. The – Kidney Awareness Education Resources, is a partnership between the The Links, Incorporated national organization and Vantive U.S. Healthcare to bring awareness and advocacy to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Our chapter collaborates with community stakeholders including UCSF School of Medicine, UC Berkeley KDSAP, George W. Davis Community Center, Southeast Community Center, Norcal MLK Foundation, WISE Health, and U3FIT to educate community members about CKD and do kidney health screenings.

The 2026 MLK Health & Wellness Festival in San Francisco is a dynamic and inclusive event that embodies Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s vision of holistic well-being for all. It serves as a vital resource hub, offering a wide range of health and wellness services to the community. The 2026 festival will feature the Black K.A.R.E. Health Pop-Up in partnership with the San Francisco Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
About 37 million American adults have chronic kidney disease (CKD) and most don't even know it. This year we will focus on Kidney Awareness, with two great speakers, Dr. Anthony Muiru, MD, MPH, and health and fitness life coach LaWanda Dickerson from U3FIT. The event includes a Produce Bag Giveaway. Attendance and registration is required to receive the produce bag.

The Links, Incorporated, Western Area is proud to celebrate our partnership with California Secretary of State Shirley Weber's Get Out the Vote (GOTV) program. In the final days leading up to Election Day, California-based chapters in the Western Area have activated across the state to ensure our communities are informed, empowered, and ready to vote. 💚🤍

In 2024, The Links, Incorporated set a bold national goal: register 100,000 new voters. Thanks to your leadership, the Western Area not only met but exceeded our per capita target—registering over 21,000 new voters and contacting more than 61,000. Let’s build on that momentum.
