For one morning only, Paint What’s in Bloom: Dahlia Dell Special Edition will take us into the Dell while the dahlias are at their peak. Flowers don’t wait, so we’re painting them while they’re here.

Join us for the next Painters Unite gathering on Saturday, August 8, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Presidio Tunnel Tops, in front of the Presidio Visitors Center.

Bring your favorite art supplies, a sketchbook, or simply your curiosity. Whether you’re an experienced artist or picking up a pencil for the first time, you’re welcome.

We’ll begin with a few creative observation prompts, spread out to make art, then gather again to share what we discovered.

Hello Facebook, it’s been a while.

I’m bringing this page back as Out There Watercolors, where I’ll share my watercolor workshops, outdoor painting expeditions, museum and garden workshops, and the small things that happen when people sit down together to look closely.

If you’ve taken a class with me, you already know the point is not to create a perfect painting. It’s to slow down, learn something, notice more, and make something by hand in good company.

I’ll be posting upcoming workshops, new paintings, class openings, and a few community projects around San Francisco.
