Jim Joseph Foundation The Jim Joseph Foundation works with grantee-partners to foster compelling, effective Jewish learning

Established in 2006, the Jim Joseph Foundation has the aspiration that all Jews, their families, and their friends will be inspired by Jewish learning experiences to lead connected, meaningful, and purpose-filled lives and to make positive contributions to their communities and the world. With the recognition that dynamic Jewish learning takes place in a multitude of settings and ways, the Foundat

ion has three strategic priorities in which it invests today: powerful Jewish learning experiences; exceptional Jewish leaders and educators; and R&D for the future of Jewish learning. Honoring the vision and legacy of its founder, the Jim Joseph Foundation is committed to the continued flourishing of the Jewish people and the culture, wisdom, and practices of Jewish life and learning. We work with grantee-partners to engage, educate, and inspire young Jews.

In EJewish Philanthropy, Schusterman Family Philanthropies' Lisa Eisen and Jim Joseph Foundation's Dawne Bear Novicoff share four key investment areas that will help our field move in this direction.

On June 2, JIMENA: Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa and Executive Director Sarah Levin are offering a special virtual training exploring the Farhud, N**i influence in the Middle East during the Holocaust, and the experiences of Jewish communities across the region.

Come and learn about this often overlooked chapter of Holocaust-era history.

More details and registration info below. The training is open to all - Educators, museum professionals, students, and community leaders are especially encouraged to attend.

The Farhud is one of the most overlooked chapters of Holocaust-era history.

On June 1–2, 1941, antisemitic violence erupted in Baghdad, devastating Iraq’s Jewish community and leaving lasting trauma that is still too often absent from mainstream Holocaust education.

Join JIMENA and Executive Director Sarah Levin on June 2 for a special virtual training exploring the Farhud, N**i influence in the Middle East during the Holocaust, and the experiences of Jewish communities across the region.

Educators, museum professionals, students, and community leaders are especially encouraged to attend, though the event is open to all.

"Many younger adults are searching for a Judaism they connect with. They're hungry for Jewish wisdom that meets them where they are today, in a world that feels increasingly fraught and uncertain–one where the ability to pause and reflect must be cultivated, and resilience matters more than ever before."

"Empowered with Meg Ryan" recently featured the Institute for Jewish Spirituality's important work in this area! Check it out below.

"Within these findings, one detail stands out. Among the contextual features shaping educators’ professional lives, the quality of supervision functions as a hinge between educators’ stable commitment and their day-to-day experience."

In EJewish Philanthropy, Rosov Consulting's Alex Pomson highlights early findings from the Foundation's Growing Educators and Leaders longitudinal study. Even at the study's early stage, a striking pattern is already emerging.
