Academy dive officers Allison Shafer and Mauritius Valente Bell have just returned from a successful expedition to Guam, where they retrieved deep Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures (ARMS) that were placed at several sites at 50 and 100 meters depths in 2018. ARMS are a tool that uses DNA-sequencing technology and comparative imaging to conduct marine biodiversity assessments. The ARMS were analyzed in partnership with:
