TFI joined MedLend, a nonprofit that organizes medical missions around the world, for a trip to a teaching hospital in Mbarara, Uganda, in 2019. The team performed surgeries with the local staff to train surgeons to repair obstetric fistulas that can occur during childbirth.

Small village clinics like the Daystar Medical Clinic in Namalemba, Eastern Uganda are sometimes the only healthcare facilities available. They can provide lifesaving care or reassurance for common illnesses. World Health Day honors these simple clinics, large city hospitals as well as world class research labs.

TFI celebrates women around the world for International Women's Day on March 8th. The theme this year is Give to Gain, which emphasizes generosity, collaboration, and reciprocity to accelerate gender equality. In this way, we can all move forward together!

On behalf of everyone at The Forgotten International, I'd like to wish you the simple pleasures of the holiday season. I hope you are able to gather with family and friends, share stories and laughter over a simple meal, and create happy memories with your loved ones.

The giving season reminds us to be grateful for all that we are blessed to have while also considering what we can do for those who may be experiencing difficult times. If you are able, take the opportunity to help an individual, a family, or a community this year. A small gesture can mean the world to someone in need of a little kindness.
