In a vibrant collage of animation and movement, SFDFF 2023 Award-Winner “Build or Destroy” directed by Dr. Rashaad Newsome depicts a blazing and bedazzled femme superfigure as she uses her powers of vogue performance to illuminate and detonate the world around her.

Inhabited and fueled by a multiplicity of Black trans femme bodies, she unleashes a fury of fireballs at the metaphorical structures that uphold patriarchy and white supremacy.
