📚 Following an August book launch at UC Berkeley, where RAMS President and CEO Angela Tang participated as a panelist, the series continues at On Waverly.

On September 20, UC Berkeley Clinical Professor Nancy Liu will introduce two research-based books: For the Next Generation, a practical mental health resource for communities, and Soren & Friends, a children’s book that helps build emotion regulation skills through storytelling.

Co-hosted by On Waverly and Russell Jeung, the event includes a conversation on , followed by a family-friendly reading and Q&A.

A historic Chinatown landmark is beginning a new chapter in community hands. 🏮

Join us at 's Empress Re-Imagined, a free, family-friendly open house celebrating the return of the Empress of China building to community ownership. The event will bring generations together through art, storytelling, creativity, and shared memories.

As part of the Art & Wellness activities, RAMS clinicians will join artist Caryl Kientz of ShadowLight Productions for a hands-on shadow puppet experience. You can also stop by the RAMS table to meet our team and learn about behavioral health programs and resources.

Celebrating the heart of RAMS! 💚

Last week, we gathered to celebrate our staff volunteers with team-building activities, delicious food, raffle prizes, and plenty of fun at KOHO Creative Hub.

During the last fiscal year, one in four RAMS staff members volunteered at a RAMS or community event, helping to share resources, build relationships, and connect RAMS with community members across the Bay Area.

A special shout-out to every staff volunteer who gave their time and talents to support our communities! 🙏🫶

On Monday, RAMS President and CEO Angela Tang, LCSW, joined experts from UC Berkeley and UCSF for a research-to-practice discussion on mental health care for youth and young adults.

Angela brought insights from RAMS’ work serving diverse immigrant communities. The discussion explored how culture, language, and family dynamics can shape mental health adjustment, as well as ways to adapt evidence-based interventions.

“We wanted to raise awareness in the community and enjoy a nice evening together. It was meaningful to reconnect with local vendors and meet residents who wanted to learn more about RAMS’ services and impact."

Jaclyn Thongrak, RAMS Event Manager, shared after attending San Francisco Police Department's National Night Out event earlier this month. RAMS joined neighbors, local vendors, and community organizations in Golden Gate Park for an evening featuring a drone show, police horses, a K9 demonstration, and children’s activities.

In local events, RAMS helps residents learn about available support and how to access services when they need them. 💚

SF City Hall Highlights from the Samoan Heritage Celebration 🇦🇸🇼🇸: Look who filled the Rotunda ❤️💙!

Minister Kevin Niuatoa proudly hails from Olosega, Manu’a, carrying his faith, culture and commitment to service wherever he is called. A graduate of Kanana Fou Theological Seminary in American Samoa, he continued his theological studies at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, earning both his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology.

Today, Minister Niuatoa serves as a Pastoral Care Specialist with RAMS SF’s Pacific Islander Wellness Initiative, helping bridge faith, culture and mental wellness for our Pasefika communities. He also serves as a Chaplain with Kaiser Permanente in San Leandro, bringing comfort, prayer and compassionate presence to individuals and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

The youngest son, born to Rev. Fautua Sr. and Faletua Mata’u Niuatoa, he was raised in a legacy of faith and service. His parents faithfully ministered at San Francisco’s Samoan UCC congregation, affectionately known as “26,” until their retirement.

We celebrate Minister Niuatoa as part of a generation of Pasefika leaders demonstrating that caring for our people means tending to the mind, body, and spirit. Faifeau Niuatoa fa’afetai tele lava for your ministry, your service and for answering the call to care for our communities ❤️🤍💙!
