Kids of Artsakh

Kids of Karabakh is a small group of charitable individuals who are dedicated to aid the underprivileged children of Karabakh.

Karabakh is a landlocked region in South Caucasus, a de facto independent republic located in present-day Eastern Armenia. Generally, winters in Karabagh can be quite cold with temperatures way below zero and last for five months from November to March. Most villages do not have the heat sources to keep them warm and to provide their immediate necessities.

Gayane and Artur have four children . Their 9-year-old daughter Varduhi, who has Down syndrome, once fell into a 5-day coma due to diabetes but survived.
Her 11-year-old brother Mark helps care for her by checking her sugar and giving injections while their parents work. The family lives in a cold, unsafe dormitory without basic utilities, surviving on pensions and benefits while struggling with debts.

We have already helped this family several times before. Thanks to your generosity, they were able to purchase a Libre Freestyle rowing machine for Vardui and cover several other essential needs.
There is now a program in Armenia that can help Arthur’s family receive partial support toward purchasing a home. However, they still need additional funds, and our help is very important for them right now.

The Kids of Artsakh group was able to send the family initial help in the amount of $300 to purchase firewood for the winter season. Because the house has no proper insulation, they require a significant amount of wood to keep the home warm. In addition, we have provided two large boxes of clothes for the family of six.
The family still needs almost everything, including basic houseware items. If you are located in the Los Angeles area and are willing to send a box or two to this family, please feel free to reach out for their mailing address. Through the Kids of Artsakh community and the “Ghapama”fundraiser, we allocated $200 in direct aid to a native Armenian family living in extreme poverty. This family of six is facing significant health challenges; one of the four children has Down syndrome and requires urgent care for high blood sugar levels. Your contributions are bridging the gap for both displaced families and native residents in Armenia who are living in these critical conditions!

Urgent Appeal: A Teacher’s Fight Against Chronic Disease
This appeal is for a highly committed Mathematics Teacher who dedicated years to educating students in challenging environments, including the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) region from 2021 to 2023. This individual is a pillar of a large, multi-generational family home, supporting a widowed sister, her child, and their pensioner father.
Their ability to continue working and supporting their family is severely threatened by a chronic, progressive, and costly medical condition.
The Critical Medical Situation
The individual is battling Bechterew’s Disease, also known as Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), a severe form of inflammatory arthritis diagnosed in 2013. Urgent Surgical Need: The progressive joint damage now requires further surgical involvement to address deterioration and maintain mobility. 📍📍📍How You Can Help
We are seeking financial assistance to cover the cost of this essential, ongoing medical management and the necessary funds for surgical intervention to prevent further permanent disability.
