As world demand for food, fiber, feed and fuel outpaces supply, increases in production are urgently needed. These needs must be achieved while maintaining and rebuilding forests and fisheries, as well as slowing the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. By increasing the productivity of already-cleared land and building on recent s

uccesses in slowing deforestation, we can feed more people while ending deforestation and mitigating climate change. 🤝 Fortalecendo parcerias para implementação do programa Municípios Inovadores no Acre

🌎 O programa Municípios Inovadores, liderado pelo Earth Innovation Institute em parceria com a Aliança da Terra, realizou uma agenda de visitas institucionais no município de Feijó, um dos territórios de implementação da iniciativa no estado.

A agenda em campo teve como objetivo alinhar, junto aos parceiros locais, as estratégias que serão desenvolvidas na paisagem. Durante as reuniões, também foram discutidas entregas prioritárias e resultados esperados, fortalecendo a construção conjunta das ações e a articulação entre instituições que atuam no território.

The Innovative Counties Program, led by the Earth Innovation Institute in partnership with the Aliança da Terra, carried out a series of institutional visits in the municipality of Feijó, one of the territories where the initiative is being implemented in the state.
The agenda in the field aimed to align, together with local partners, the strategies to be developed across the landscape. During the meetings, priority deliverables and expected results were also discussed, strengthening the joint development of actions.

🌎🤝 EII - Brasil participa de diálogo internacional sobre a agenda florestal e financiamento climático de Bolívia.

O Earth Innovation Institute - Brasil participou de um encontro internacional promovido pelo Governo da Bolívia, nos dias 28 e 29 de abril, em Santa Cruz, voltado ao financiamento climático e à conservação florestal.

A diretora executiva Monica de los Ríos integrou a programação como painelista em sessão sobre a mobilização do setor agropecuário em programas jurisdicionais de REDD+ (JREDD+), destacando caminhos para ampliar o engajamento do setor privado.

A participação reforça a experiência do EII na construção de instrumentos jurisdicionais na Amazônia, como o SISA, no Acre, referência em governança e financiamento climático.

🌱 O encontro reuniu representantes do setor público, incluindo o presidente da Bolívia, Rodrigo Paz, representantes do setor privado e organismos internacionais para avançar estratégias de mitigação, atração de investimentos e fortalecimento de uma economia sustentável.

🌎🤝 EII - Brazil participates in an international dialogue on Bolivia’s forestry agenda and climate finance.

The Earth Innovation Institute – Brazil participated in an international meeting organized by the Bolivian government on April 28 and 29 in Santa Cruz, focused on climate finance and forest conservation.

Executive Director Monica de los Ríos participated in the program as a panelist in a session on mobilizing the agricultural sector in jurisdictional REDD+ (JREDD+) programs, highlighting ways to expand private sector engagement.

This participation reinforces EII’s experience in developing jurisdictional instruments in the Amazon, such as SISA in Acre, a benchmark in governance and climate finance.

🌱🫱🏻‍🫲🏾 Diálogo multissetorial por um futuro sustentável em Goiás

Entre os dias 22 e 24 de abril, em Goiânia, foi realizada a 1ª Oficina Multissetorial do projeto Abordagem Jurisdicional para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável em Goiás, promovida pela Secretaria de Estado de Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável, com apoio técnico do Earth Innovation Institute (EII).

O encontro reuniu representantes dos setores público, privado e da sociedade civil em um espaço de escuta e construção coletiva, voltado à compreensão das dinâmicas de uso da terra e de suas interconexões no território.

Ao longo da oficina, os participantes trabalharam de forma colaborativa na identificação de caminhos que conciliem produção, conservação e inclusão, fortalecendo estratégias para o desenvolvimento sustentável no estado.

🌎 A iniciativa integra uma abordagem sistêmica para enfrentar as mudanças climáticas, complementar aos esforços setoriais, com potencial para orientar investimentos que promovam a integridade ambiental e social da economia goiana.

From April 22 to 24, in Goiânia, the 1st Multisectoral Workshop of the Jurisdictional Approach to Sustainable Development in Goiás project was held, organized by the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development, with technical support from the Earth Innovation Institute (EII).

The meeting brought together representatives from the public, private, and civil society sectors in a space for listening and collective action, focused on understanding land-use dynamics and their interconnections within the region.

Throughout the workshop, participants worked collaboratively to identify pathways that reconcile production, conservation, and inclusion, strengthening strategies for sustainable development in the state.

🌱 Fortalecendo parcerias para transformar territórios (English below)

🤝 O Earth Innovation Institute e a Aliança da Terra estiveram em Palmas e em Marianópolis (TO) em uma agenda estratégica com parceiros locais para avançar na implementação do programa Municípios Inovadores.

🌿 A iniciativa busca desenvolver e colocar em prática planos municipais integrados que conectam prevenção e combate a incêndios, produção sustentável, conservação florestal e inclusão social — promovendo uma governança mais coordenada e eficiente da paisagem.

🔥 Como próximo passo, o programa inicia a instalação da Brigada Aliança, com a formação de brigadistas locais para compor e fortalecer a atuação ao longo de toda a implementação do programa. A iniciativa integra conhecimento técnico e saber local, ampliando a capacidade de prevenção e combate aos incêndios florestais e fortalecendo a autonomia e a organização nos territórios.

🤝 The Earth Innovation Institute and Aliança da Terra were in Palmas and Marianópolis (Tocantins, Brazil) for a strategic agenda with local partners to advance the implementation of the Innovative Municipalities program.

| Strengthening strategic partnerships in Pará

We look back on our CEO Daniel Nepstad’s recent engagements in Pará. Dialogue with the state government, the private sector, and local communities reinforces the EII’s commitment to building integrated solutions to climate challenges.

The Earth Innovation Institute (EII) presented its recommendations for the Sustainable Production Subprogram of the Pará Jurisdictional REDD+ System to the State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate, and Sustainability.

The document was developed through a participatory process, involving workshops with representatives from the productive sector.
