Marvin and Tereza, ABS-registered judges, will lead us through how to prepare our begonias for a show designed to WIN. They will give a short lecture with a slide show which will help prepare members for our upcoming show and sale in September and beyond.

The class will be followed up by a first-ever event for SF Begonia— The Art of Kokedama. Kokedama is the Japanese
art of growing plants in a moss ball. In fact, “koke” means moss and “dama” means ball in Japanese. We will lead you
through a step-by-step tutorial on how to craft these cool moss balls, AND your registration fee will cover everything
you need to create these amazing little art forms. This will be messy as we will have our hands in damp soil. Wear appropriate clothing and don’t forget to bring boxes and containers to carry out your kokedama balls and more. As usual, if you have plant-related items you wish to offer for free, we will have a table where you can share everything, but be prepared to take them home if they are not claimed.

Registration is mandatory to attend and it will close Monday August 3 @ 10:30 pm. There will be NO entry at the door without pre-paid registration. If you’d like to become a member in time to take advantage of the lower registration fee, YOU MUST DO SO BY JULY 27, 2026. This will allow us time to process your membership.
