How do you create great images with the gear you have or want?

Join us on Saturday, October 17th for our Good, Better, Best Lighting Workshop! A hands-on morning exploring how to build, shape, control, and direct light at every level.

We’ll break down the same lighting brief across three tiers:
📸 GOOD: Make the most of what you have.
💡 BETTER: Build and shape the light.
🎬 BEST: Direct the entire production.

Whether you’re working with limited gear or building out a full production, you’ll learn how to make intentional lighting decisions, find creative solutions, and bring the vision to life.

The dynamic duo AB+DM will have a morning and afternoon pre-con class at Imaging USA 2027! 📸 Sign up now with the link in our bio. 🔗

AB+DM will demonstrate their editorial process from start to finish featuring: how to respond to a brief, mood boarding, team communication, lighting setup, model directing, problem solving on set, post production and client file delivery.

They’ll have a 10 AM and 2 PM class on Saturday, January 30.

Imaging USA 2027 pre-convention programming will be held from January 28 – 30, 2027 at the Charlotte Convention Center. 📸

Project: Kiki Ballroom Scene
This project was created with love and celebration of and for the members of the Kiki Ballroom Scene. A group of people who, in the face of various disenfranchisements, have built community together through the art of dance, costuming, competition, joy, and service work. The work was created as a statement of resilience, elevating each talent to showcase the elegance and beauty in their humanity. Made with care and intentionality, the portraits were shot in a black box on site at an event, with all background and foreground elements fabricated in post-production.

Project: Family Road Trip in Colorado
Photographed and Directed by: Inti St. Clair
A family road trip through the mountains of Colorado. Windows down. Music up. Kids running wild. Somewhere between the highway and the lake, the camera disappears and the family takes over. The goal was to capture the feeling: not a perfect family in a choreographed moment, but a real family fully immersed in their journey together. The adventure, the chaos, the connection, and those fleeting moments when everyone forgets they are being photographed and they are just soaking up the time spent in the final rays of late summer sunshine.

Project: Body & Earth
Body & Earth centers around cultural storytelling through an internal gaze. Utilizing Black muses alongside nature as an active character, the project symbolically layers natural elements to explore identity, community, and our deep connection to the land. Each image represents one of the primary elements: earth, water, air, and fire, as well as space, where the muse is positioned within a cornfield preparing to ascend beyond the physical world. Her work serves as a powerful advocate for both community and the environment.
