The MNC Housing and Homelessness Prevention Services team participated in an annual in-person training and meeting organized by the San Francisco Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SF ERAP).

This gathering shared significant insights and crucial updates from both the SF ERAP and the Season of Sharing Program (SOS). It was a dynamic environment where providers could connect with one another, facilitate networking opportunities and exchange best practices.

20 mothers participated in a “Healing with Nature” Workshop where they engaged in activities focused on connecting with nature through the use of medicinal plants like chamomile, lavender, and eucalyptus, as well as soothing oils. Participants expressed their gratitude to take part in a space dedicated to healing and group wellness where they were able to relax, connect with themselves, and share with other mothers in the community.

The workshop was a meaningful experience for the participants and strengthened the MNC Family Services commitment to creating accessible spaces for wellness, community connection, and support for families.

20+ MNC Seniors visited Slide Ranch to enjoy a great time outside of the city. They saw goats, sheep, chickens, organic gardens, and beehives. They also had the opportunity to prepare cheese and bake bread. They enjoyed a great time outside of the city.

Slide Ranch is a nonprofit in Marin County with the mission to connect people of all ages to nature through hands on education on their coastal ranch and nature.

MNC celebrated 13 amazing GED Graduates and 12 Honorees at our Liliana Theater. Opening remarks and congratulations were shared by Academic Counselor Hector Amaya, MNC CEO Richard Ybarra and SF Department of Early Childhood (DEC) Bi Huang. Student Reflections were given by graduates Yeiber Cantillo and Carol Linares who spoke of their education journey, support from loved ones, and perseverance to get their GED. Thank you DEC for your support through the Early Childhood Workforce Pathways!

We had the closing session of Women at the Front (Mujeres al frente MUF). During these eight sessions participants expressed themselves, felt a sense of community, and are more confident in achieving their goals from what they learned.

We had a self-care closing session merging theory and practice. They made wellness bags and had the opportunity to take care of their faces with moisturizing masks. Everything made possible by the child watch so they could enjoy their special day.

MNC HADS (Healthy Aging & Disability Services) dedicated a full day to team building, strategic planning, and developing new ideas and projects for our Healthy Aging Program. The day was a valuable opportunity for our team to strengthen our collaboration, reflect on our accomplishments, plan for the year ahead, and develop new projects and activities to enhance our Healthy Aging Program and better serve our community.

We are grateful for this opportunity to come together as a team, share ideas, and prepare for another successful year of serving our community members.

MNC served over 100 Mexican families, and their children, collaborating with the SF Consulate of Mexico. Families had access to services and documentation processes, including passports, consular registration cards (Matrícula Consular), voter identification cards (INE), and dual citizenship services for their children.

20 mothers and 43 children participated in a backpack distribution event organized to support families in our MNC Evans Campus community as they prepared for the back-to-school season. The families were grateful to receive backpacks and school supplies, to help support the children as they begin the new school year. It was wonderful to see the excitement and appreciation from mothers and children as they received this support from us.
