Hello friends. Through the generosity of charitable foundations, individual and business donors, United Policyholders services to the public are free of charge. Once a year we host an in-person "UP to Good", a fundraiser that includes a reception, dinner and silent and live auction. We know not everyone can make it to the event, but if you'd like to support UP, you can check out our live and silent auction catalogue and bid on items that appeal to you.

Simply let us know which auction lot you’d like to bid on and the maximum amount you authorize us to bid on your behalf. During the event, our auction team will bid for you up to your stated maximum, giving you the opportunity to win while supporting United Policyholders from afar.

There are also two special “Buy-In” experiences available, allowing multiple supporters to purchase a spot at a set price. If you’d like to participate in one of these opportunities, simply indicate the Buy-In item and the number of spots you would like to purchase or use the QR on those items to "buy" online.

California is preparing for a quite a storm season! We're here to remind you: Where it rains, it can flood.

Flood damage is not covered under your home policy. Please share these tips on what you can do today to prepare for El Niño and how to shop for flood insurance.

PS: Flood damage to your car is covered under comprehensive coverage – you may need to add that coverage to your auto policy if you want to protect your vehicles from damage caused by flood or other natural disaster.

Filing an insurance claim after a wildfire can feel especially overwhelming when you’re already navigating loss, displacement, and uncertainty about what comes next.

These reminders from can help you get the most out of your insurance:

💡 Be pro-active in the claim process and keep good notes.

💡 Don't pad or exaggerate your claim.

💡 Give your insurance company a chance to do the right thing, but don't mistake a friendly representative for a friend.

💡 Think of your insurance claim as a business negotiation—you’re dealing with a for-profit company.

💡 Document and support your claim with proof, details and estimates.

💡 Present clear requests in writing that explain what you need, when you need it, and why you’re entitled to it.

💡 Try to resolve problems directly, but put complaints in writing and escalate or seek outside support when necessary.

💡 Get specialized professional help when you need it. Check out UP’s Find Help directory.

The Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI) will host a virtual town hall covering wildfire insurance issues on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 5pm.

Coloradans affected by wildfires are highly encouraged to attend. Colorado Insurance Commissioner Michael Conway, along with DOI staff, will cover important wildfire insurance topics.
