🎒New backpacks. ✏️Fresh supplies. ☺️Big smiles.

Next week, hundreds of children will head into the new school year with the tools they need to succeed, thanks to the kindness of our community.

It takes a village to help children succeed.

To every donor, volunteer, partner, and supporter: thank you for showing up for local children and families. We couldn’t do it without you.

💙 Every child deserves a strong start.


🎒 Mochilas nuevas. ✏️ Material escolar nuevo. ☺️ Grandes sonrisas.

La próxima semana, cientos de niños comenzarán el nuevo año escolar con las herramientas necesarias para triunfar, gracias a la generosidad de nuestra comunidad.

Se necesita a toda una comunidad para ayudar a los niños a salir adelante.

Pre-K got their hands messy in a special, squirmy activity! 🪱
 
Our Healthy Connections interns, Megan & Sam, guided our youngest learners through a sensory experience to help ease the encounter with these small friends.
 
Tiny hands sifted through soil to uncover many wriggly friends, digging deeper into the world of these wonderful decomposers. 
 
Thanks to our incredible interns and teachers, this will be a positive memory for everyone and help neutralize their relationship with things that crawl. 🐛

¡Nuestros alumnos de preescolar se ensuciaron las manos en una actividad especial y muy movediza! 🪱
 
Megan y Sam, nuestras pasantes del programa *Healthy Connections*, guiaron a los más pequeños en una experiencia sensorial para ayudarles a familiarizarse con estos amigos viscosos.
 
Pequeñas manos removieron la tierra para descubrir a muchos amigos inquietos, adentrándose en el mundo de estos maravillosos descomponedores.
 
Gracias a nuestras increíbles pasantes y maestras, esta será una experiencia positiva para todos y ayudará a cambiar su percepción sobre los animales que se arrastran. 🐛

Megan và Sam – các thực tập sinh thuộc chương trình Healthy Connections – đã hướng dẫn các bạn nhỏ tham gia một trải nghiệm giác quan, giúp các bé cảm thấy thoải mái và bớt e ngại hơn khi tiếp xúc với những sinh vật có vẻ ngoài trơn trượt này.

This year, we’re raising $25,000 to provide 300+ children with new backpacks and essential school supplies, so every child can walk into the classroom ready to learn and thrive.

Cheers to summer shenanigans! 🎢

Our Summer Academic Enrichment (SAE) program’s first session has ended and we’re on to the next with many new adventures, exploring how things work, and exciting places to discover! 🧭

Recently, our kiddos went to McLaren Park to learn more about community service — they cleared trash all afternoon, ending the day with some outdoor play. 🦺🚮🌱

Summer at FCC means following our curiosities throughout the city we call home — taking CalTrain for the first time, traveling through time at the Asian Art Museum, and field trips to places with rollercoasters!

Fun and learning continue all summer long at Family Connections ☀️
