Congratulations to our 19 Pre-K graduates! 🎓

Last week, families gathered to celebrate with a song performance and an opportunity to share what they want to be when they grow up producing special moments like one kiddo sharing, “I want to be a teacher when I grow up…to help kids like us.” 👩‍🏫

At Family Connections, Pre-K is so much more than childcare. Through play, natural exploration, and a project-based curriculum, children build the social-emotional, cognitive, language, and fine motor skills that prepare them for kindergarten, and the rest of their life.

A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers, as well as the room parents who either helped out in the classrooms, read to the children, or joined a special field trip - your presence make a difference. 💓

🌼 A beautiful afternoon in the Portola!

Sunshine lit up the neighborhood, while smiling faces and community filled the streets for Bloom Shaboom 2026!✨

🐉 The lion dancers & performance dazzled
🎨 The art + decorating stations stayed busy
🌱 Nature activities sparked curiosity while planting seeds
🍦 And laughter was everywhere!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate art and nature through connection. We loved seeing our community show up and come together to create memories and cultivate joy! This is what matters most to us 🫶🤍

Treats, sweets, and good deeds! 🥠

Our Pre-K and Homework Club just finished a recipe of their own creation - a delicious bake sale held outside two of our centers on Mission St and San Bruno Ave!

All together, they raised $1,080 for Friends of the San Francisco Publjc Library - to say thank you to our incredible librarians for bringing the magic of story time to our classrooms and more!

The is week, our Portola Cantonese Support Group created beautiful flower bouquets in preparation for Mother’s Day - made with love and care! 🌸

This week, we’re celebrating the teachers in our community — all the way from early care educators to afterschool teachers, movement instructors, cooking facilitators, workshop leaders + partner organizations, and the staff who continue to make learning possible every single day. ✨

Thank you for the care, patience, creativity, and wisdom you pour into helping children and families feel seen, supported, and confident in themselves and the world around them. We’re especially grateful for educators who reflect the cultures, languages, and lived experiences of the families we serve, because representation matters deeply.

Thank you for all that you do. 👨‍🏫👩‍🏫 You show up every day with so much energy and passion, and your impact will never be forgotten.

What a day 🎪🤍

This weekend’s Balboa Family Carnival brought together over 1,000 neighbors, families, volunteers, and community partners for a foggy afternoon full of games, arts & crafts, music, face painting, and joyful connection.

All of the busy activity booths, the smiling faces all across the playground, and the park filled with warmth, laughter, and the spirit of community. 🤝

Huge thank you to our staff, parent leaders, volunteers, and incredible partners who helped make the magic happen - we couldn’t have done it without you!
