For 126 years, Holy Family Day Home has provided exceptional early childhood education to San Francisco children and families. That purpose has never changed, and we’re excited to share some news about our next chapter to make sure we can keep carrying that purpose forward.
Today, we're announcing that as of this January, Holy Family Day Home will join Compass Family Services. Compass shares our deep commitment to children and families, and together, we’ll build on the Day Home’s legacy and expand opportunities for families across San Francisco to thrive!

As a special project, the teachers in the Beluga classroom set up a flower workshop where students created their own bouquets with fresh flowers! Working with natural materials like flowers stimulates sensory exploration and sparks curiosity about plants and the environment.

Students from the Beluga classroom created some beautiful works of art using droppers and ink on propped up pieces of paper. Working with droppers facilitates the development of fine motor skills, and the vertical canvases offer an opportunity to learn about gravity.

At our staff development day on Friday, staff broke into small groups and gathered a variety of loose parts and natural materials to create a provocation as a team-building activity. While creating their provocations, teams were encouraged to reflect on the following questions:

What does belonging look like?
How can we represent collaboration?
What is the language of our team?

The activity sparked thoughtful discussions and provided an opportunity for staff to explore these ideas creatively and collaboratively.
