SFBA Founded 1986. Water Safety is a top priority and the SFBA provides education and training to help keep SF Bay Area sailors safe.

The SFBA is dedicated to the preservation of launch Access, promotion of water Safety, and development of Community for San Francisco Bay Area windsurfers, kiteboarders and SUPers. Since 1986 the SFBA has worked to preserve launch access and improve launch conditions to our many treasured sailing sites all around the San Francisco Bay. Our volunteers are passionate about boardsports and strive to build a strong and supportive Community.

ALERT: At 14:55, CHP reported a blue kiter in distress near the Golden Gate Bridge. Conditions are heavy fog / low visibility. Coast Guard and Marin County units are actively searching. Report ANY info immediately to the Coast Guard. Thank you.

If you are still at Crissy, do a full head count — riders, cars, gear — identify who is unaccounted for.

Update: Kiter picked up by Coast Guard, destination gas house cove. No injuries. Informational from Coast Guard. Tug boat on scene with down kiteboarder. Coast Guard on the way. Crissy, golden gate bridge.

STAND DOWN, SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT BOAT HAS PICKED UP THE KITEBOARDER IN DISTRESS AND RETURNING TO SHORE.
ALERT ! COAST GUARD IS OUT LOOKING FOR A KITE BOARDER WITH A RED FOIL, BLUE HELMET, BLACK WETSUIT. WEST OF ANITA ROCK, PLEASE REPORT ALL INFORMATION TO THE COAST GUARD.

Alert! Coast Guard is out searching for a kiteboarder with a gold leading edge, white/pink/blue canopy. The Coast Guard did encounter another kite that was yellow/blue. They are looking for kiteboarder with a gold leading edge, white/pink/blue canopy off Crissy Field/ Golden Gate Bridge. Please report any information about this active search and rescue to the Coast Guard at 415-399-7300.
