What's a common misconception about meditation?

Tucker Peck, Ph.D. leads Pragmatic Dharma Club every Monday evening at 7:30pm here at SFDC.

Tame what, Eve?!

You can catch Well of Being Wednesdays every week at 7pm here at SFDC or live on Zoom.

Let’s dig into the mind of Tucker Peck. Tucker is a PhD clinical psychologist by day and leads Pragmatic Dharma Club here at SFDC every Monday night at 7:30pm. Did we mention he’s also the author of Sanity and Sainthood? This is the first installment in a series we’re calling Talkin’ with Tucker.

Join us on Wednesday at 2929 24th Street as we put together care packages for the homeless. We will stuff bags with things that homeless tend to need, socks, hand warmers, hats, etc.

🧤 You are welcome to take some of the bags to hand out (and we’d prefer you take at least a few).

🧤 If you can get things in bulk (we’ll probably stuff about 180 bags), here are some things that might be useful:
- aspirin (or similar)
- cough drops
- earplugs
- feminine products
- power bars (more are better)
* Medicine (should be in small packages and be individual wrapped (for example, travel sizes)

🧤 Please do not bring:
- Anything perishable (ie fruit)
- large bottles of medicine
- anything heavy (i.e. liquids)

🧤 If you choose to, you can give them out at homeless encampments or keep them in your car to hand out to folks that need help.

🧤 One important part of this work is treating everyone with dignity. Say a few kind words to everyone you interact with, wish them a better day, look them in the eye… basically just acknowledge they’re another human being with feelings and deserves to be treated with respect.

We're just trying to make the world a little better, one person at a time, doing what we can to help

PEACE WALK - Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park - Sunday, May 31, 11am-1pm

Come join us in Golden Gate Park on Saturday morning as we make our way from Hippie Hill to Ocean Beach in a simple act of peace and togetherness.

This walk is inspired by a group of Buddhist monks (and their beloved dog, Aloka), currently on a 2,300-mile pilgrimage across the country. We're drawing on that same spirit, right here in San Francisco.

Think of this gathering as a mindful, gentle, and collective practice of shared purpose. We'll open with a short gathering and intention setting at Hippie Hill, then take a contemplative walk through the park to Ocean Beach. We will close at the water's edge with a moment of reflection, in which we offer the collective energy of our walk to be of benefit toward healing and compassion for all.

No experience needed. No commitment required. Join for the whole journey or just a stretch of it. All are welcome.

On this Earth Day evening, join Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, internationally renowned teacher, accomplished author, and lineage holder in the Tibetan Bön tradition, for a special gathering hosted by SF Dharma Collective. In conversation with Eve Ekman, contemplative scientist and teacher, and in dialogue with the audience, Rinpoche will explore our intimate relationship with the living world through the lenses of shamanic, ta***ic, and Dzogchen traditions. Through teaching and guided practice, the evening invites a direct, embodied sense of connection with the elements, illuminating how the natural world lives within and around us, and how awareness can deepen our sense of belonging on Earth Day.

7pm - 8:30pm
In Person at Children’s Day School Middle School

Boundless Love is an embodied exploration of the wide open heart. Through the Buddhist practices of loving-kindness and compassion, we’ll learn how to release the grip of the judging mind — meeting ourselves and others with tenderness and deep acceptance.

With guided meditations, somatic exercises, discussion, and sweet song, you’ll come away with vital tools for bringing joy, connection, and well-being to your daily life.

BOUNDLESS LOVE: Exploring the Wide Open Heart
Sun, Mar 29, 9am - 1pm PDT

All are welcome to join, regardless of meditation experience!
