Today, we joined many of our local schools in welcoming students to a brand-new school year! 🎒📚

Each school brought wonderful energy, cheering on their students and helping them start the year feeling supported and excited.

A big shoutout to all the schools we visited—thank you for letting us join you today: Guadalupe Elementary School, Cleveland Elementary School, Willie Brown Middle School, and Thurgood Marshall High School!

We want answers!

Today CMAC and YMAC came out to City Hall and visited each district office to ask what they found important to them. Not every office had someone present, but we left notes and hope for a response. We did however connect with a few of our leaders who were gracious with their time, including our mayor Daniel Lurie.

This week CMAC/YMAC practiced teamwork at SEA TREK in Sausalito by learning the basics of kayaking in pairs. We are grateful to Sea Trek for their care, and expertise with our members.

Today, our PMAC – Parents Making a Change group concluded its summer session! 🎉

Each PMAC member received a certificate of completion recognizing their commitment to learning, leadership, and advocating for their children, schools, and community. Throughout the session, parents and caregivers came together to build knowledge, strengthen their voices, and support one another as leaders in San Francisco schools.

We’re incredibly proud of this cohort and grateful for the energy, wisdom, and dedication they brought to the program. Their work doesn’t end here — they are now part of a growing network of parents creating change in their schools and neighborhoods. 💙

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a very special guest, Anita Chen, an expert in transformative learning and child protection.

Our members spent the day creating self-portraits, participating in hands-on activities, and exploring the importance of understanding and expressing their emotions. Through Anita's engaging workshop, they learned how emotions can shape our experiences, relationships, and well-being.

We're incredibly grateful to Anita for sharing her knowledge and creating such a thoughtful, empowering experience for our young people.

Anita is one of many amazing community leaders and professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to help our members grow, learn, and discover new perspectives.

We had an incredible time at our staff retreat! 💙

Over the course of the retreat, our team came together to strengthen our connections, align around our campaigns, and reflect on the work ahead as we continue fighting alongside our communities for equity and justice.

A special thank you to Jacqueline Welch for leading such a thoughtful and engaging workshop on emotional intelligence in the workplace. Her presentation gave us valuable tools to better support one another, communicate with intention, and continue building a healthy and collaborative team culture.

We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to the Golden State Warriors for hosting us at the Thrive Center. We truly appreciate your generosity and the welcoming space that helped make our retreat such a meaningful experience.
