In this issue of Magazine, we’re exploring the many ways in which Masons and give back—and in so doing, form a massive, if largely invisible, network of community support.
From extensive surveying, members, and especially new members, are looking for ways to engage in community service. Our lodges are in a perfect position to give them precisely that, whether it's a pancake breakfast benefitting the high school football team, or an SPCA vaccine clinic in a lodge parking lot, or a scholarship bequest from the 1960s that's still supporting students in California.
Of course, that's not the only way California Masons support one another and the communities around them. Whether it's building on a century-old tradition of local relief, establishing a legacy for future generations, or bringing life-changing resources to some of the lowest-performing schools in the state, the impulse to give back is a strong one here.
