At Aim High, we see the incredible potential of every middle school student.

Since 1986 we have provided no-cost, high-quality summer programming for thousands of middle schoolers throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Aim High is a five-week summer enrichment program for rising 6th – 9th graders from low-income communities across the greater Bay Area. Offered at no cost to students and their families for up to four summers, Aim High helps middle schoolers build academic conf

idence, discover a love of learning, and develop the skills they need to thrive in high school and in life.

D. Michelle Dana Riley, M.A.’s journey with Aim High is a powerful example of leadership growth, mentorship, and the impact educators can have when given opportunities to thrive. Over the past five summers, Dana has grown from Lead Teacher to Instructional Coach to Site Director at our Richmond site — all while continuing to mentor fellow educators and create engaging, supportive learning environments for middle school students.

Her story reflects what makes Aim High so special: investing in educators, cultivating leadership from within, and building joyful spaces where young people can discover their confidence and potential.

We are thrilled to share our 2025 Annual Report! For four decades, Aim High has been a launchpoint for young people to imagine their futures and build pathways to success. This year, we supported 2,016 middle school students across 17 campus sites in Northern California.

The results of this early investment are clear:
• 98% of surveyed Aim High alumni enroll in post-secondary education.
• 88% of students feel a deep sense of belonging within the Aim High community.
• 86% feel more prepared for the upcoming school year.

Middle school is a critical pivot point for development, and we are proud to provide the joyful, affirming environment our students deserve.

Aim High is excited to be in Sacramento for the California School-Age Consortium (CalSAC) Afterschool & Summer Challenge with five of our incredible young adult leaders from across the Bay Area! 🌟

These inspiring leaders were once students in Aim High’s San Rafael, Novato, Napa, and San Francisco programs—and are now continuing their journeys through our Compass Fellowship, investing in their own growth as they prepare for college and careers.

Over the next two days, they’re joining youth from across California to build advocacy skills alongside policy experts and community leaders—and to share their lived experiences, elevating the powerful impact of programs like Aim High on success in school, work, and life.
