At Aim High, we see the incredible potential of every middle school student.

Since 1986 we have provided no-cost, high-quality summer programming for thousands of middle schoolers throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Aim High is a five-week summer enrichment program for rising 6th – 9th graders from low-income communities across the greater Bay Area. Offered at no cost to students and their families for up to four summers, Aim High helps middle schoolers build academic confidence, discover a love of learning, and develop the skills they need to thrive in high school and in life.

Some lessons stay with us long after we leave the classroom 💙

They shape what we notice, what we value, and how we show up for other people.

For Citlali Espinoza, the connection between learning and community remains part of her work today. Her reflections remind us why getting to know students means getting to know more than their academic goals. It means understanding the families, neighborhoods, and experiences they bring with them.

That kind of care matters.

When we invest in a young person’s education, the impact can extend to the people they will one day teach, guide, and support.

This is what we’re celebrating. And what we want to keep making possible.

💙 Help make the next impact story possible. Join us for Aim High’s 40th Anniversary Gala.

When you support a young person’s summer, you’re investing in more than those few weeks.

You’re helping create a place where students can ask questions, try something unfamiliar, and discover what they have to contribute.

And that investment can reach beyond one classroom.

Jill’s story reminds us that supporting educators matters, too. The care they experience and the practices they learn can travel with them into the communities they go on to serve.

Now a public high school teacher in the Bronx, Jill says:

“I carry Aim High with me into school every day.”

That is what more than a summer can mean. Lessons in care and belonging that educators carry into new classrooms, reaching more young people.

💙 Help make the next impact story possible. Join us for Aim High’s 40th Anniversary Gala.

Aim High Career Day with Ford Motor Company Ford Philanthropy - Helping Young Dreams Blossom!🌸

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers from Ford for spending time with students at Urban Promise Academy (UPA) and opening their eyes to careers in engineering, marketing, technology, and more!

Our students asked questions and explored their own possibilities through our “Blossoming Dreams” activity. Students created flowers representing their dreams 15 years from now—including their favorite hobbies, dream careers, dream colleges, and where they hope to live. 🌱 6th graders also left with new pens, new notebooks, and new ideas.

A special thank you to Andrea Howard, Ford Business Manager and Aim High trustee/alumna, for coming back to invest in the next generation.

Thank you, Ford Philanthropy and UPA, for helping our young people imagine their future
