Call came in for a mama dog and puppies chasing after people. I mean…maybe like to play? 😂 All of the dogs were returned to their owner who didn’t know they had a hole in the fence. Nice easy call!

Most people walked past Russ without stopping.
He was thin, missing patches of fur, sick with kennel cough, and sitting quietly in an overcrowded Philadelphia shelter while louder dogs barked for attention around him.
But one woman noticed something different.
Kayla Filoon was volunteering as a dog walker at ACCT Philly when she saw the 4-year-old pit bull sitting calmly in his kennel instead of begging for attention. She later said that while the other dogs barked, Russ simply looked at her quietly… and something about him instantly stayed with her.
After only a few minutes walking together, she could not stop thinking about him.
At the time, the shelter was overcrowded, and Russ was vulnerable because of his condition. Kayla knew what that could mean.
So the next day, after finishing class, she rushed back to get him.
And that decision changed both of their lives.
Later, after bringing Russ home, Kayla sat doing homework while the exhausted rescue dog climbed directly into her lap and wrapped himself around her chest like he was afraid to let go. A friend snapped the photo… and the image quickly spread across the internet.
People everywhere saw the same thing:
A shelter dog finally realizing he was safe.
Not because he was perfect.
Not because he looked impressive.
But because one person chose to see past the outside and give him a chance.
Sometimes the quietest dogs carry the biggest hearts.
