Young African American Leaders The Young African American Leaders A membership organization consisting of 3408 members on the 2011 roster.

The YAAL meet bi-annually for membership drives and coordination of special events. They support various violence prevention projects and provide Thanksgiving turkeys to some of the less fortunate individuals in their community. YAAL also provides a quarterly newsletter to keep the members informed of current affairs impacting our community, which they may not be aware because of their demmanding work schedules.

Reparations NOW! My mother was 8 years old and forced to be in the fields picking cotton AFTER EMANCIPATION and she is 92 years young (Praise God!) and still living to speak about past and present injustices. (In my Judge Milian voice, "PAY THE PEOPLE NOW!!")

Activists on Wednesday demanded that the state of California pay millions of dollars to each Black resident as reparations for slavery and subsequent discrimination, dismissing payments of $5 million per person as "nothing" and "too little."
