A week ago we filed release requests for 6 Dublin survivors & an open letter signed by 120+ orgs. Your voices were heard and ICE confirmed that they are looking into these requests (rather than the usual automatic denials).

Your emails are working! ICE confirmed they are reviewing our demands but a week w/o action is too long. FCI-Dublin survivors remain at NWDC in abysmal conditions - reporting finding a human tooth in one of their meals. Survivors are afraid to even eat: bit.ly/us-too-action

Andrea from our Deportation Defense program talked to Telemundo about the injustices faced by the survivors of sexual abuse at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin. Her client is one of the many survivors now facing imminent deportation. ICE must release her and others like her now!

CALL TO ACTION:

Please join DSCS and over 120 organizations nation-wide in asking ICE to stop detaining and deporting noncitizen survivors and witnesses of sexual assault at the Federal Correctional Institution Dublin.

6 of these survivors, including clients of DSCS and Centro Legal de la Raza are facing deportation at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, WA. This is a cruel double punishment. ICE must grant their release requests. Please share the graphics below and email asking for their release!

We are holding ICE accountable to its new priorities memo under Secretary Mayorkas and demanding the immediate release of several leaders at Golden State Annex, including our own client, Enrique Cristobal Meneses. Enrique was transferred to ICE custody despite his sentence being commuted by Gavin Newsom.

DHS' new Guidelines for the Enforcement of Civil Immigration Law is now effective. If these guidelines mean anything, they must mean immediate release for our leaders at Golden State Annex!

We are overjoyed to share that Andrea Reyes will be returning to the Dolores Street Community Services team as a 2022 Skadden Fellow! Her project will expand access to immigration legal services and education to domestic workers, day laborers, the unhoused, and survivors of labor trafficking in the San Francisco Bay Area through direct representation and a mutual-aid community education partnership. Andrea is a fierce and brilliant advocate and we can't wait to see the lasting impact of her project in our community.
