THE FIRST TIME I BROUGHT AMERICAN COMEDIANS TO THE EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL
Aug 2000. After doing several one-man shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, aka "The Fringe", I decided to produce a charity benefit. Turning Point Scotland is a very well-known drug and alcohol charity located in Glasgow, Scotland, and launched by Princess Diana. Turning Point (England) was founded by the late Princess and TPS was the Scottish offshoot.
Why did I do this? Was I an alcoholic or struggled with drugs? No. But for years, I told thousands of comedy audiences across North America I was "addicted to laughter". This was the first of three, the following year at the 3,300-seat Edinburgh Playhouse, and then 2002 The London Palladium, which was broadcast on British television. Click on and see the fantastic comedians, improvisors, and musicians we had on the very first "High On Laughter", the incredibly beautiful ancient city of Edinburgh, as well as learn a little bit about what wonderful work Turning Point Scotland does to help innocent teenagers and adults who happen to live in the most he**in infested city in the entire world.
Comedian and activist, Steven Alan Green presents the first High On Laughter benefit he produced in the UK in 2001.
